In two days, my mechanic will do a complete fluid change in my 2002 RX300 4WD. This includes: coolant, brake fluid, oil, power steering fluid and ATF. After doing much research and soul searching, I am leaning to Mobil 1 synthetic ATF (New Formula) which Mobil says meets Toyota T-IV reequirements. Lexus dealer says stick with T-IV. I am not concerned about warranty as my vehicle has 85,000 miles on it. Anyone using Mobil 1 synthetic ATF? Any horror stories?

I`m not using the mobil atf, but the Wolfs Head(Amalie)full synthetic fluid. It has never shifted better! I don`t think the Toyota fluid holds up well at all. Also,be sure your mechanic uses the Toyota red coolant! The Toyota coolant cant be beat.

Lenore, It`s actually a popular company over here in PA. It used to be a Pennsylvania based product. Then Amalie out of FL (I believe) bought them .And is still a very good oil.

I decided to go with Amsoil for all of the fluids on my wife's RX330. I am doing rear differential and transfer case tomorrow. AT next week when I get the fluid. For those interested just go to www.amsoil.com.

Since the transmission holds a lot more fluid than normally drains out, how do you go about getting the rest out??
