chubyball Posted January 14, 2004 Author Posted January 14, 2004 When you replace a straight accross the catalytic converter, without the connecter does the engine light still on?
JPI Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 When you replace a straight accross the catalytic converter, without the connecter does the engine light still on? Yup the CEL will be on of course.
BlackSC4 Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 i live in the bay area, california. places i ask tell me they wont do it because the feds are cracking down on that stuff and they fine them 2500$ if caught. besides...theres like 3 cats on the sc4...can muffler places make a straightpipe nice enough to replace those 3?
AWJ Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 Yea they can but in Cali, it might not be a good idea.
Calvin L Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 at least remove the cat that does the most restricting. GUT THOSE KITTIES! does anybody know of the gains from going straight pipe? and how much louder will it be? than a (pretty quiet) aftermarket exahust.
jzz30 Posted January 15, 2004 Posted January 15, 2004 yea it gets pretty loud without the kittys if your afraid of straight pipe why not look in to a (or 3) high flow cats.
