thenewmexican
My 1991 LS400 Has noticeable black smoke coming from both tail pipes. The smell of the smoke is highly toxic. And. Even finds it way into the passenger cabin. Could it be the MAF sensor or ?? Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

If the engine is misfiring heavily it could be a bad injector, or if no power, a bad ignition coil, and neither of those will pop a code. The diagnostic codes say 24 and 31. Which both point to the MAF sensor. However I checked the MAF resistance at 72F, and it was 2K. My understanding is that between 2K-3K @ 68F is the correct resistance. So. What else could it be. Coil ?? ECU ?? Thanks again.
