Kpett
I took a short 2 hour drive down to Macon and back in my 93' SC400. The next day my wife noticed it wasn't putting out any heat through the vents. White smoke started coming out from under the hood. As the car was being driven back home, it started to over heat. As the temp got hot, heat started to come through the vents. Then the heat stopped and the temp would rise again. Upon looking at the car I have a leak in the upper part of the radiator behind the fan shroud. Did this happen from a faulty thermastat, or heater core valve? Is it possible I could use some "stop leak" instead of getting a new radiator? (yes, I'm trying to be cheap :whistles: ) A little help would be appreciated. djspawn00
can you pinpoint the exact leak? I wouldn't use the stop leak stuff unless you plan on junking the car soon.... you can find an aftermarket radiator for around $200....
UCF3
nah, you're definitely looking coolant. look for wet spots in your engine bay and underneath the car, and check your excess-Coolant dump Reservoir.
