EAGLE33 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hi everyone, I've been out for a while. Does anyone know, besides ebay, where to get replacement for center console armrest for 96 ls400? The leather is all cracked on mine...or maybe there are places that can do new leather on it? Some part places wants over $900 which is outrageous. Thanx
Alexander the o.k. Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Call some junk yards. Seriously. I'd try to find out what the year range is as well, meaning --can you use any year 2nd gen part, or only 96. That may open things up a bit for you. Keep in mind that they do change color schemes year to year. It could be that 96's and 99's are close enough, or the same scheme etc.
ED. Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Yeah plus one on the j yard. You are in California so you get lucky. I was in Irvine/Moorpark for a BMW meet and on the last day the guy we were staying with had to go to north Hollywood for some parts so we tagged along and on the way back went by some yards and there were a ton of parts. He ended up getting a bunch of stuff a few weeks later. I think you should be able to find exactly what you need. I would throw some leather conditioner on it a lot and maybe something over it to protect. I like to keep one of my microfibers with me and that way my elbow is resting mainly on it and not tearing anything up. Plus I can use the mf to clean up any dust or anything off the windshield. Niceeeeee.
