dssnosher
When going at slow steady speed and trying to accelerate, the engine will give a cracking noise for a second or two. I remember on old Russian cars this was referred to as "finger knocking" due to poor quality gasoline. This wasnt happening with 94 unleaded gas, only with 91. Not recently i noticed the sounds with 94 unleaded. Would anyone know what causes this and how to get rid of this problem. I changed spark plugs at 184,000km, the car is now at 235,000km. djspawn00
Are you getting any check engine lights? If so post the codes.
2JayZ
You may be fueling up at an unscrupulous gas station that is selling lower than posted octane gasoline. Stay away from them. Also, the GS is not fond of ethyl alchohol (ethanol) in it's fuel supply. Run your tank down to the reserve. Research where you can buy quality fuel without added ethanol and fill up with 91 octane or higher and continue to use only that gasoline. dssnosher
No check engine lights. I fuel up at Petro Canada and ESSO only(one of the major gasoline suppliers). This happens with ESSO 91 oct and PETRO CANADA 91 oct. Any other suggestions?
