I finally got a ding & scratches on the body panel near the driver's side rear wheel of my 06 ES330. Should I visit my dealership or can any body shops do the job?

Can you post pics of the damage?

I would have the dealership near the top of my list for body repairs personally.......but it does not hurt to get several estimates.

Actually I would not use the dealership and here's why.

Dealerships have a built in source of business, people automatically use the dealer. You're better off finding an independent shop that works on a lot of high end cars that has good references. These shops depend on their quality to survive.

JMHO.

SW03ES is absolutely right. the dealerships use other businesses for for body work. Our dealership uses Goff's auto body and glass, and ABRA body and glass. Two big companies who do fine jobs. We dont have body repair in our shop, but we sure can buff out scratches.

x2. Most like the dealer hands off their body shop work to a local place.

Find out from your dealer who they use and go straight to the source.

many of the Lexus dealers in these parts are linked with a Toyota store.....with their own body shop on site. But I understand that's not the case everywhere. :)
