plamma
My dealer has told me that the special oil the 460 uses will be billed at $9.77 per quart. This seems a bit steep to me. Can anyone give me some info regarding the price they have paid for an oil change?
gordonw
That price seems a bit high. Now the oil Lexus recommends is 0w20 synthetic and the LS460 takes a little over 9 quarts. As reference,, we charge about $6 per quart.
08LS460
That price seems a bit high. Now the oil Lexus recommends is 0w20 synthetic and the LS460 takes a little over 9 quarts. As reference,, we charge about $6 per quart. Lexus does not recommend "special" oil, nor does it recommend synthetic oil. It recommends 0W20 and 5W20 petroleum based oil. Check your owner's manual. This quality brand name petroleum based oil can be purchased at most automotive stores for $3-$4 per quart. Your dealership is trying to make an excessive profit and hoping you will cooperate. It recommends 0W20, or 5W20 if you can't find 0W20. If you use 0W20, it pretty much will be synthetic. You can get 5W20 dino oil, but have not seen nor can I find 0W20 dino oil. Which grade are you using? If you are using 0W20 dino, what brand are you using, because I can't find 0W20 dino oil from Mobil, Valvoline, Pennzoil, or Havoline. aqualung
I buy Castrol GTX 5W-20 non-synthetic for about $1 per quart whenever it goes on sale + rebate here in San Jose.

Can anyone give me some info regarding the price they have paid for an oil change? I went to my local Lubex and the cost was $130 CAD for the oil change. Lexus was going to charge about $150 but the main reason I went to Lubex is that it was done for me in 20 minutes as opposed to a "half day" Can anyone tell me how to reset my "Change Oil soon" display that appears on my dash everytime I start up? Even the Lexus mechanic here couldn't help me as there are very few LS460s on the roads in Edmonton.
SW03ES
My dealer charges $20 a quart for Mobil 1. I bring my own oil that I buy at Pepboys for $5 a quart.
