boostedis300 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 i tried to take off the emblems and it took some paint off too b/c my car was repainted.. what adhesive do i need to buy and where to put the emblem back on my car????

smooth1 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Seeing as how your car was repainted, maybe just have a place repaint it again with out the emblems on. Maybe kill both issues. If you just put that emblem back on, and the paint is peeling now, the paint would have probably peeled up in awhile anyway. Then you can just keep the emblems off and the car will be repainted the right way in that area. Just a thought.
boostedis300 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 its been a couple days since i took them off and when i get home, i try to peel the black glue off and it comes off.. the lexus L is gone, maybe i didnt try good enough?? when i look at it from the side it seems to be on top of the paint....what should i do?? put the emblem back on?
boostedis300 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 i used goo gone to take off the remander of the black sticky tape behind my car emblem... now it is mostly paint with a little sticky stuff on it. how long do i need to wait to put the emblem back on??
djspawn00 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 use a heat gun to remove whatever residue is there... clean the area again... you can use isophryl alcohol, apply new emblem... and your done...

bartkat Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Once you have all the old adhesive and the goo gone cleaned off and the surface is dry, then you should put the emblems back on.
