BigBuggie Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Just a quickie here. Seems something behind the lens in the headlamp rusted up and gave a nice brown tint to the whole headlight. Is there any easy way to separate the lens from the backing to get in there and see whats going on? Thanks, Pete
jcrome04 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Maybe a flexible attatchment to a dremmel and a soft bit that won't scratch the glass. The thing about rust though if you just clean it up and leave a little there...It's just going to do the same thing..I'd say if you can afford it get some new headlights. Who knows maybe you can find a sweet deal on some JDM Celsior housings. ;)
eatingupblacktop Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 There are clips on the side which makes it look like you should be able to separate the front lens from the housing. I've never tried but Lexus says it can't be done and you have to replace.
1990LS400 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 The lens is glued to the housing. Detailed instructions, with photos, on how to separate the lens from the housing have been posted in the past. In involves heating the headlight unit up in a warm oven for a limited time. I suggest that you do an advanced search of this forum.

BigBuggie Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 Aww Darn, I missed the Ebay listing, thanks anyway! I look around, I dont think that they're comin' apart as easily as I would like them to, For the effort I am willing to put in to something that trivial. Thanks again. Pete
eatingupblacktop Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 You might want to try a set of Sylvania Silverstars once you get your new housings.
