larrytuttle Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Just bought a used, certified, 2000 ES300 with 38,000 miles on it - with a 3 yr warranty. Very, very clean. However, after a few days of driving, I noticed a very slight vibration (through my hands on the steering wheel) that begins at about 1400 rpm and then goes completely away at above 1500 rpm. It happens only in gear, not in park or neutral. Its very slight but noticeable. Any ideas? Should I try to get this fixed under the warranty?
amanda Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 ya know, these things drive me nuts! good luck getting yours fixed.
steviej Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 get your wheels balanced and aligned. I am assuming when you say "in gear" you mean the car is in motion. You don't have it in gear and are standing on the brake to see if it is the tranny itself vibrating....right? sj
blake918 Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Larry, join the ES Idle Problem Club started my Amanda; I'm member #2 j/k. I think my problem is a vacuum problem somewhere because when I open the hood and listen there is a hiss coming from somewhere. Plus, my tranny acts funny sometimes, and I think the vacuum leak is the culprit. You're lucky... I feel the vibrations even while in park plus at red lights. My vibration is only in the idle rpm range like 700-1800 rpms. Good luck!!!
