gsbay Posted August 16, 2007 Share Posted August 16, 2007 so im the 2nd owner of a 98 black/tan fully loaded gs300, has about 120k miles...my car is as stock as stock can be, the only thing i had changed were the rear lights...now have the 02 lights...anywho, i havnt had any serious issues with the car, ive only had to change the shocks...upgraded to ltuned, i cant really notice a HUGE difference but i guess it rides a little more smooth... the main issue im having as of right now are with the door locks...sometimes when i unlock using the remote, it doesnt work...and sometimes it does...and the remote distance is weak...i have to be up close to the car to unlock it...is this normal? a lady friend of mine has an 02 es300 and her remote works from realll far away, and before i got my gs, i had a 97 bmw 528i, and that remote worked from a far distance as well...so im assuming theres something wrong, obviously theres something wrong with the locks...but as far as using the key to unlock from a distance, im assuming theres something wrong...unless other people are having the same issue? i will appriciate any help/advice on what to do to get this fixed...i called a local lexus dealer and they told me they will charge $125 just to look at...i dont think im going to pay $125 just to find out what the issue is...once again, any help will be wonderful... djspawn00 Posted August 18, 2007 Share Posted August 18, 2007 my remote is weak and fidgety too, but acceptable.. it doesn't have the greatest range and sometimes it takes multiple tries to get the windows to wind down especially when I'm about 15 feet away. my batteries are fresh and the weak range doesn't bother me... last thing i want is my keys in my pocket and having the doors/windows open when i'm in the house....
