ko90ls Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I'm thinking of changing my engine mounts and i recently had my tranny changed. i was wondering if the tranny shop changed my mounts along with the tranny? any tranny experts or techs who can weigh in on the subject? Thanks in advance
fblonk Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Hi, I had my mounts replaced by a local shop. I do most work myself, but the crossmember had to be removed. Had to be done on a lift. Special note, make sure the engine and transmission are properly supported before the crossmember is removed, or else the heater control valve can be broken. Motor mounts on the LS are recommended to be replaced at 100,000 miles. Both of my mounts were broken at 123,000 miles. After replacing them the acceleration and idle vibrations improved. Good luck Fblonk
bicol-ini Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 tranny mount are cheap like 50 bucks or less, put the car on stands and look under the tranny see if its new rubber on it then they replaced it or just the mechanic
