fmaylett Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I need some ideas here. 2006 GS300AWD with ~35k miles. Overall, it's been a great car. About 1000 miles ago, my brake light started coming on the dash. I took it into the dealer and he said the fluid was a bit low, pressure checked the lines, inspected the pads and said all was good. Just low on fluid. Fast forward 800 miles, same problem. I just added more fluid and all was well. Now the light is on again. Third time in less than 2000 miles that my brake fluid is low. I have zero staining on my garage floor, and not other indication that fluid is leaking out. Any thoughts, ideas, history, suggestions, etc.? Dealer is at a loss.

fmaylett Posted July 2, 2007 Author Posted July 2, 2007 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=38542&hl= I understand what you're saying about the sensitivity, but I'm hard pressed to understand why I've needed to add fluid 3 times in 2000 miles. There is a reason why it continues to run low, not just a sensor. Any ideas/
fmaylett Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 Larry Miller Lexus hit a home run! They figured it out! In a nutshell, the master cylinder had a bad seal and was leaking brake fluid into the brake booster system. All self contained, thus no leakage on the ground. They had to replace both (under warranty) and all is fine. Mystery solved.
