  1. I have a 2004 RX330 and to no surprise, the transmission is having issues. It currently has ~80k miles and the transmission is slipping. It's been regularly serviced and I just had another complete flush done by the dealer. The question I have is the following: Has anyone taken their RX into a transmission specialty shop (AAMCO, Tanner, Etc.) and had them take care of the slipping problem? Dealer wants ~$5k for a new one and I'd rather not spend the money if a transmission specialist could fix it for less. BTW, I have no faith in our local Lexus dealer. Horrible service. Thoughts or experiences? Owner of: 2006 GS300 AWD 2004 RX330 1999 RX300 2005 Toyota Corolla (Been the most dependable by far...)
  2. Out of curiosity, does it disconnect your current call when a new call comes in? I have a Blackberry Pearl and if I'm using hands free and another call comes in, it drops my original call. Really a pain...
  3. Yes, yes, yes! I took my 2006 AWD in and asked them to look at it. Hounded by poor reception and another problem with the radio. If I used the scan or seek funtion, it stops at numerous "static" stations in between the real stations. The dealer said nothing was wrong and that it was normal. My daughter's Corolla radio works better! So much for spending the money on the ML system.
  4. Larry Miller Lexus hit a home run! They figured it out! In a nutshell, the master cylinder had a bad seal and was leaking brake fluid into the brake booster system. All self contained, thus no leakage on the ground. They had to replace both (under warranty) and all is fine. Mystery solved.
  5. I understand what you're saying about the sensitivity, but I'm hard pressed to understand why I've needed to add fluid 3 times in 2000 miles. There is a reason why it continues to run low, not just a sensor. Any ideas/
  6. I need some ideas here. 2006 GS300AWD with ~35k miles. Overall, it's been a great car. About 1000 miles ago, my brake light started coming on the dash. I took it into the dealer and he said the fluid was a bit low, pressure checked the lines, inspected the pads and said all was good. Just low on fluid. Fast forward 800 miles, same problem. I just added more fluid and all was well. Now the light is on again. Third time in less than 2000 miles that my brake fluid is low. I have zero staining on my garage floor, and not other indication that fluid is leaking out. Any thoughts, ideas, history, suggestions, etc.? Dealer is at a loss.
