diesel2k
Does any one know if I can change my steering wheel for my 97 LX450 with one that is designed for a 97 Land Cruiser. I would appreciate any comments?
ellieoh
I think most parts probably are but why would you want to interchange parts? Regards David
diesel2k
The reason I ask is, because I'm looking to order a steering wheel which is part burlwood and part leather. It is by the company stwheel.com. You should check it out. They are really nice steering wheels. They have one that is made for land cruisers which, I assume would fit Lexus models as well. I just want to make sure they can be interchangable, before I order it.
dougjohn
You can swap pretty much any 1995 through 1997 Land Cruiser part for a LX 450 part. ... Doug
Thi
I heard that Landcruiser part is cheaper also. Thi
dougjohn
Many times the Land Cruiser part is cheaper. Funny thing though -- I've gotten quite a few Lexus parts that come in Toyota boxes/bags. Many times with the same part number as Toyota (not always though). Unless you need something that's unique to the LX, I'd get the Toyota part. ... diesel2k
FYI, I ordered the steering wheel just to give it a try and it didn't fit.
Mojo
Why didn't it fit?
diesel2k
When I held the two steering wheels together (factory and after-market), you could tell that the mounting bracket was different on both. Unless, they just sent me a wrong model. I was able to return it and get my money back atleast.
