Air Force Rascal Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Does anyone here know how to set the speedometer if it gets off in a 93' SC400..? Thanks for any help!!!
grnsc40095 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Air Force Rascal, Did this happen all of a sudden, or did you replace any clusters on the instrument panel? If all of a sudden, you may have to replace the speedmeter cluster, read the following links from Clublexus, to see if this helps decipher your problem. If you replaced the speedmeter clusters, make sure the car is on level ground. "It's all technique, so keep fiddling with it until the speed need to sit on zero and not below." Thanks DC for the Info..that's the whole problem in a nutshell I did send it in to Lextech to get fixed but they did a really bad job of soldering and the speedometer needle goes dark only after 30 or 40 mins of driving and then went dark until you shutoff the ignition for at least 10 mins then go driving again. I took it all apart and now got it to work fine after resoldering a couple of bad solder joints but in the process I think I must have moved the speedometer needle and now it's about 5 to 7 miles slower then the car is actually going. As far as Lextech is concerned I e-mailed them about the problem but to this date they haven't responded to my inquirey. It's pretty bad whden a company does'nt have a phone number to call for assistance nor do they have a Warranty like other companies. The last time I do business with them, I can assure you. Maybe they are the cheapest in the business for doing this kind of work on Lexus Clusters but I would rather pay more and get the job done right the first time and also have communication with them after the fact, instead on relying on e-mail that never gets answered.
