ezekielj007
Got a question: My 96 ls400 doesn't immediately start up when I turn the ignition key. It gives me that d-d-d-d-d-d-d-vroom (now it's on). So there's a hesitation there. You can tell the car is trying to fire up but it takes a second for the engine to actually turn over. What is this caused by?
bicol-ini
did you check your battery, how old it is, maybe its about time, now if not, your starter is giving you some hints but hope this is not the case
tcho82
Same with my 92 LS. The starter cranks fine. But it does take like a full 2 seconds for it to fire up. But it always starts.
GSsoldier
i dont think its anything to worry about, it just the car's age showing, maybe some other members can help but my car did the same and freaked and turns out it was nothing
blake918
I find that my '95 is slow to fire up when the engine is cold. It takes a few seconds when it's cold, but when it's warm, probably a second or less. My battery is only a few months old, so I don't think that it's the culprit. My starter was changed some 150,000 miles ago, so I hope that the slow starting is not a sign of things to come. Just out of curiosity, how do your start-up times match up to these cars (I think I have one of each from slow to fast): Here's my car's first start of the day (taken a few days ago): http://members.cox.net/bchata3/'95%20LS.MPG A '92...really slow to start, I think slower than mine-- a weaker sounding start if nothing else.: http://members.cox.net/bchata2/Blue%20'92%20LS.MPG I think this '93 cold starts exactly how the LS should start-up--not too fast, not to slow: http://members.cox.net/bchata3/Black%20'93%20LS.MPG And, this '92 is warmed up; my '95 starts exactly like this when it's warm: http://members.cox.net/bchata3/Beige%20'92%20LS.MPG
VMF
i think is perfectly fine, i got 96 LS with 150k miles and it does the same thing, it was doing this since i got it and i never had a problem with starting.
