Value?

Recommended Posts

For the last three years I have been a very proud owner of a first gen GS300. It has indeed been one of the best vechicles I have ever had the privledge of owning. However, I am at a stage in my life where it is no longer serving my needs like it once did.

While I could probably drive this thing another 100k without incident, I have been starting to search for something a bit more in line with my current needs. My question is, how much can I trust Kelly Blue Book value for my Illinois zip? Retail is around 9500. Private value is around 7500.

Here is a run down of my 94:

New Lexus brakes (within last 2500K)

New KYG performance struts (within last 500 miles)

Very desireable color combination (Silver with grey leather interior AND tinted windows).

100500 miles.

Tires are still pretty good.

It has not yet had the timing belt changed though the dealer took a look at it and said it looked great.

Has one VERY small patch about the size of a quarter where the paint cracked and the paint is starting to bubble. Other than this and a couple pea sized rock chips on the front and rear plastic bumper, the paint is practically perfect.

The drivers seat has a couple of worn leather spots, but overall very good. The ONLY other thing wrong is the trunk not opening from inside the car.

What are your expert opinions? post-17885-1159060353_thumb.jpg

Check your local newspaper ads and compare the prices of Luxury vehicles that follow under your vehicles year, mileage, and price range, mainly Lexus. Check to see how they match up with the KBB value and go from there. In my area, usually cars are listed at or a little above KBB values, but the ones that get sold in a day of listing are the ones that are of course below. But everything depends on your local auto market value.

If possible, place a picture in your ad. but not the one above...... :)

ya it def depends on the local market, like i got my 95 for only 5k, it only had a few more miles on it, but you'll def get at least 6k if you clean it up and have a good ad.
