Yeah, there's a trick.........DON'T "REEF" on anything trying to get it out! Take your time, look at everything before taking a crowbar to anything.

If memory serves me correct (please verify) the base cushion is held down by a funky "black tab" kind of affair & lifts straight up in the front. The seat base has to come out first, then the seat back. I think you have to (or at least should) remove the seat belts first before doing anything else.

There are two bolts, each under the little leather flap under each headrest.........Deep socket time. You'll also see (4, I think) bolts at the base of the seat back that need to come out.

Once you've got everything apart, it will all make perfect sense. It's just that they do such a good job camoflauging everything.

Doing struts?......

The seatbelts don't unbolt until you take the bottom seat cushion out. ;) My bottom seat cushion comes out very easily (just a swift tug on the driver and passenger sides and it's out.)--and absolutely don't use a crowbar! Then you will see where to unbolt the seatbelts and the seat back. I think there are 4 bolts (driverside, passengerside, and each side of the arm rest) along the bottom, and 3 at the top (where Thread said they are, plus one more at the top of the arm rest compartment.

I have a 97 that should be the same. The seat back has four bolts at the bottom, one behind the center armrest at the top and then nothing else I can find but it is still attached from the top somewhere while I can pull (swing) the bottom up a few inches now. It is driving me nuts...please help!

read the above, you will see there are three upper bolts under the headrest

Thanks for the fast reply. I tried to find the other bolts from reading that but when I take off the two headrests, there are no bolts behind them, not even a flap in the leather like the center armrest, just stiched leather. Am I looking in the wrong place for the other upper bolts?

Found the other two bolts. The leather in my car is like new and it looked like the stitching was to the seat behind the headrests but the bottom corner is a flap that exposes the bolts on each side. Awesome!
