godfather18 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 What the best Kelvin rating for a HID bulb? Im looking for that ultra hyper white look with a hint or purple
SW03ES Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I'd stick with 4100 and get a proper reflector, otherwise they look fake and just blind everybody.
SKperformance Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 6000K would be still usuable with the blueish spectrum.
Toysrme Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 6000K really isn't that blue - it's just whiter once it's warmed up & is a deep purple->light blue as it warms up. Maybe a 6-7K korean bulb get's really blue, but not good bulbs.

godfather18 Posted July 3, 2006 Author Posted July 3, 2006 Mine are 6000K philips uliton's My buddy of mine has a LS and his hid kit is 8000k and it looks super white with a hint of blue from side angels, so I might just go with the brighter kelvin and toys yours look sick as hell and ur Lex.
Rx330driver Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 how much K is in a standard HID bulb from lexus, like the ones for my Is300?
SKperformance Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Never said it was blue. It is slightly dimmer than 4300K but has a nicer output range which has the border of a blue hue. Once blue is added you loose the reflective spectrum your eyes see. So the more blue the less you can see on the road. Besides no one makes a quality bulb other than 4300k the closest is a 5000k mid life upgrade bulb which is already colour shifter to match an older bulb.
