Gunnut
I know this topic has been brought up quite a bit before, and I have searched and read everything I can. My 94 LS 400 is in desperate need of new cabin air filters. I found them online for $36 shipped. One thing I have not been able to tell from either any of the posts here or from the online retailers is if the filters come as a set of one or two? Also, are the OE filters carbon filters? Now that I have seen the filters up close, $36 seems awful expensive for only one of these. I'm planning on rodering from Park Place Lexus. Item Number MSRP Core Price Price 8888050010 $44.23 $0.00 $36.71 FILTER & ACCESSORY A THanks in Advance. JimA
CUMan
Yes, they are sold as a set. Included in the box is a very good installation guide.
fblonk
Hello, I have a 98 ls and what I did for the air filter is I went to walmart and purchased a micron filter for the home system, cut a piec out as big as the cabin filter and put that in. The wife, who has bad allergies, was having a problem with dust and this filter works well in the house, so I put one in her car. It is a lot cheaper and traps more contaminants, so the system stays cleaner. Hope this helps. Fblonk
TexasLexus94
I posted about cabin filters years ago, and I'm confused about your question. I bought one filter for the plenum located in back of the passenger side footwell area. Are you saying there is more than one place where a cabin filter is needed? I know I bought only one filter from some place on the internet, and never knew that more than one was required. FYI-the filter is just a regular filter-it was not a carbon type. It cost about 24 bucks plus shipping. Best of luck.
Gunnut
Yes, on the 93-94 there are two. they are mounted side by side. There is a tutorial over in the workshop tutorial section titled 'How to remove cabin air filters'. JimA
