BadBrad
With about 1,300 miles now on the ODO, when I hit the brakes I get a mechanical, one-time, "clanking" noise that seems to be directly related to engagement of regen braking. Sound emanates from what most would call the front transmission tunnel in a "normal" car. Any reports of similar experiences are appreciated. Thanks
katzjamr
sorry brad, not good, not normal. 12K on mine and never had that noise. drive one from the dealers lot. i dont think you will hear the noise. keep us posted on what the dealer repairs, you have a large community of support here. Rx330driver
does this happen one time when you start the car and hit hte brakes? If it only happens that one time, its normal for some cars, most notably in the IS300, but not in the Rx series. Im not sure if the Rx has floating calipers but that is the clanking noise explanation for the IS
BadBrad
An update on this strange clanking noise. It seems to only occur at high altitude (i.e., every time we go to the mountains at about 7,000 + feet). Come back down near sea level - noise goes away. Weird! I'm not worrying about it. wayhin
My first RX400h has the brake issue. It had the clanking noise when I applied the brake immeditely after accelerated the car. I have posted that in this forum before. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=28440
