GLM Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 The title says it all. How much do they share, as in parts and things like that? Thanks. :) :whistles:
katzjamr Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 the engine drive train and hybrid system of the highlander is the same as the 400h. i believe the 400h sits one half inch higher off the ground and has larger tires. the ride is probably sprung differently handling wise on both cars. the highland is epa rated at one mpg better than the 400h. highlander does not have bluetooth, mark levinson, or an automatic hatch as far as i know. it does come with a third row seat. i understand the highlander will be updated for 2007 as 06 was the last year for this body style, and it is much needed, imho.
GLM Posted May 29, 2006 Author Posted May 29, 2006 Thanks for the info. So it'll be updated in 2007, as in redesigned, or just facelifted?
Rx330driver Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 it should be a redesign. As for their parts, lets see if i can make this into a gift analogy. They have the same gift, they are just wrapped differently. THe inside is the same, the outside is entirely different.
RX400h Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 According to Consumer Reports, the RX400h gets slightly better fuel mileage, is a bit quieter, and has a smoother ride. The Highlander handles slightly better.
GLM Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 Thanks guys. Can't wait to see the redesigned RX. The current one looks amazing, not sure how they can beat it.
