vevro Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 The steering wheel doesn't move forward when the key is inserted in the ignition. Also the up and down function isn't working either. However, the column retracts when the key is removed from the key ignition. Any ideas what may by the problem the column? Any feedback is appreciated.
1990LS400 Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 There was a TSB under which the tilt motor, telescopic motor and other related parts were replaced on many 1999 - 2000 LS400s. The details and VIN numbers are at: http://www.clublexus.com/index.php/article...iew/1913/1/324/ The TSB was for "noise/smoothness improvement". The TSB may not be relevant to your problem but it would be interesting to know if the TSB had been applied. A Lexus dealer could tell you if this and other TSB's have been applied to your car.
Jacob Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 I have a similar problem on my 96 and it's frustrating because I don't know how to fix it. I tried adding a spacer (as described by one of the members) but it didn't work :cries:
