ccjw33
I like to know if anyone here has done the xpel clear bra paint job on their IS350? I like to get Hood, Fender and Mirror Kit -> ($249.95) Bumper and Lower Bumper Kit -> ($319.95) Headlamp and Fog Lamp Kit (Blue) -> ($83.94) I wonder if we have to pay the full retail price with labor or we might be able to get some discounts from the local dealer? mehullica
I saw one this weekend with Lumar clear film for $1200.00 retail. It was the whole car almost. Both bumpers, mirrors, door handles, door sills, door edges.

From what I've seen, most are paying $600 to $700 for that kind of job. Labor is included. The price you have seems to be in line.

I am trying to see if I can get it for $600 included tax. And what you think about this paint job? I saw one this weekend with Lumar clear film for $1200.00 retail. It was the whole car almost. Both bumpers, mirrors, door handles, door sills, door edges. oh wow that's expensive. Have you done this before? I like to know if anyone here has done the xpel clear bra paint job on their IS350? bartkat
Most people that have xpel swear by it. It's saved their paint and they say bugs and stuff come off more easily. I'm thinking about getting it, but it's hard to find an installer around here. As for the price, I think most didn't get the headlights and mirrors, but just the bumper and hood front. Scott M
I've heard that these are great on lighter colors, but debris hits show up horribly bad on darker colored cars. (Read in one of the forums) Anyone else heard this? From what I understand, the hits to the bra can cause it to come away from the car, leaving a light colored blister in the cover. This would not be seen on a light colored car, but is much more noticable on the darker colors like SGM and Black. Anyone else seen this happen? From what I've seen, most are paying $600 to $700 for that kind of job. Labor is included. The price you have seems to be in line. I was quoted $650 and then talked with the guy at Stone-X that actually does it for the dealer. He told me that it's NOT for a "full warp". For $650, I get the hood, front fenders, door handle backing plates and trunk opening backing plate (fingernail scratches). These are not pre cut. They actually remove the grill and wrap it around the sides and cut. It does NOT include the front valance, pillars, headlights, foglights, etc. I plan to wait until I'm informed of my IS coming in and then I'll go down and talk about the cost of the "full wrap". Another local IS owner told me that he had issues with this dealer not only with the clear bra (redone 3 times), but also with the tint installation. I'll get the issues resolved prior to giving them the go ahead or I'll take it to a local, highly recommended clear bra and tint specialist. :o

So you actually paid for $550 for everything? Where did you get your clear bra installed? I would get one if I can get everything done around $550. zeroyon
I saw some replies from people in the bay area. So, did the shop get the clear bra installation done right? I just had mine done, but wasn't happy with how the cuts turned out, so had them remove it and got my money back. What's been the experience? Scott M
Why does everyone seem to find a better deal than me??? :cries: I'm taking delivery of an 07 G35x in a few weeks and I'm in search for 3M/XPel protection. The dealer is a 3M certified installer, but they want $695 for the Hood, Fenders and Mirrors. Bumper and lower spoiler add another $600 Door handle cups... $20/per door I've called every 3M and XPel certified in MA, CT, and RI and all appear to be about the same price. Hood, Fender and Mirror Kit on an IS250, depending on coverage, starts at $199.95 and goes up to $279.99 Bumper and Lower Bumper Kit adds another $349.95 These prices are for the kit alone from XPel, this doesn't include installation. $279.95 $349.95 --------- $629.90 - Plus installation How can anyone manage to get this coverage for the prices mentioned here? I'm looking at a grand easy, as the G kits are even more expensive. :cries:

It covers the hood, bumpers, mirror, lights, door handles. They didn't use the term XPEL but it sounds like the same products which are from 3M. Can anyone suggest a reliable installer in the San Francisco Bay Area at a reasonable price? Thanks.

I talked my dealer down to $695 for the Hood/Fender/Bumper/Mirror kit, installed. By far, the cheapest I could find anywhere. I still want the lights and door handle cups done, but the dealer was easier to work on price once I reduced the size of the job. I'll get the lights and door cups done down the road sometime. The lights look a little too curvy to attempt, but I bet I could just order $30- worth of material and do the door cups myself. Much cheaper than the $20 per handle the shops are getting.
