Buying A Car Out Of State. How It Works?

I live in NJ, is it possible to have a local Lexus Dealer get a car shipped here that is in a dealer in Florida or Texas for example. Do the dealers work like a sort of network like that or is that impossible. I have been searching autotrader and i have found some good deals in different states. I really don't want to fly anywhere and have to drive the car across country. Thanks in advance.

Yes dealers have something called "dealer exhange" when dealers want to exchange cars. However if u are buying and dealing with the dealer other than your local dealership, you will need to drive/fly to the other dealership to pick up your car since you didnt buy it in your local dealership. However, if you talk to your local dealer and come down to a deal and they dont have the vehical, they will use the "dealer exchange" to get your vehical. Some dealers charge a 650 dollar fee for this. This is just how it works in California around the Bay Area.

Most Lexus dealers do dealer swaps, but NOT for CPO's.

Certified Pre-Owned car's they can't do that for (learned that this summer when i wanted an rx300 at Ira Lexus in MA).
