Before I bought my car from sydney, I got lexus sydney to check it out... I just spoke to lexus melbourne to get some prces (already quoted by sydney) they were as follows:

SYD

Front badge: $90

Engine mounts (just parts): $900

MELB

Front badge: $45

Engine mounts (fitted incl. parts): $500

WTF is with that???

Can anyone else think of a reason for this, apart from being ripped off???

maybe different taxes and surcharges for being in another part of the country? or maybe they're just ripping you off :pirate:

sorry gav_logan

i can't remember what year you have

but in my 94 and otehrs of the 92-96 vintage

the upper dogmount is the easiest and only one to go

usually about 45 for it

i am in the process of replacing mine with a urethane custom one so as to not have to bother with it breaking agian for the 3rd time, it is also only 2 bolts 2 remove to change it

the lower hydralic one is usually more money don't know the price though

look on ebay for new badges and save a ton

i just found my old invoice for my gold ones and i paid 300 for all inclding a core charge of 50 for the new rear taillight with the emblem ,this included the caps for the wheels not just the emlems

I've got the badge already, and I'm happy with the price, but thanks.

$45 USD for the ceramic hey? Sounds good to me... Could you be flocked making another? At a price of course... that'd be mad!

you say ceramic

i am am only replacing the rubber with urethane not ceramic

making another couldn't be too hard ,just very messy

i am in canada so the 45 would be almost like yours

but the price of shipping might be a bit crazy

the stupid part is the one side of the dogbone is solid but the other has a space around half of it to allow more engine vibration in the mount rather than be transfered

this creates a very weak area

so i remake them and fill the whole thing

much better response from the engine

and no noticable vibrations

on the other cars

besides 45 is feasable

but it would have to include a core for me to work with

i don't know of anyone making a ceramic busing as

a bushing is made to be flexiable and ceramic is hard brittle and an exellent heat insulator

plus light weight

i think he just made a typo and was thinking ceramic when he meant ureathane

He he, right on the money sk. Don't know where it came frome either...

Just tell me how much you want for it (message me if you like) and I'll check out the postage costs.
