Noisy Engine

I have a 1997 es300. The car drives smoothly but the engine sounds differently than it used it. It makes a loud buzzing sound which gets lounder as the car accelerates. Anyone here experience anything like it or know what the problem may be? Thanks.

Ya, definately sounds like an exhaust leak.

Be that a split flex section, worn out gasket, or loose bolts who knows.

If you want to figure it out in a hurry without going to a shop, pour a 1/2 cup of ATF into one of the big vacuum lines (brake booster is easy). Give it a little rev when you pour it on so it doesn't die.

It'll billow smoke for a while until it all burns out, but won't hurt anything.

Always makes finding exhaust leaks easy. Along with being a *really* funny practicle joke! LoL!
