lextsy Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Hi all. Sorry if i am not allowed to link auctions but i am interested in buying this bodykit on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS400-90-97...987911156QQrdZ1 Is it supposed to look that ugly lol? it looks unpainted to me. Can anyone advise me if this is any good. I want a bodykit which looks like this.. http://www.clublexus.com/gallery/showphoto.../505/perpage/24 with those fat side skirts. anyway does any1 think the ebay kit would look anything like that?
SKperformance Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 The kit is not bad looking but the finish looks like hell. It is going to cost you more to install that kit than it will to buy it because of it being unfinished.
akewlguy Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Looks interesting. Yeah the finish is going to cost a pretty penny!
lextsy Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Looks interesting. Yeah the finish is going to cost a pretty penny! ← oh so its totally raw and will need to br rubbed, primed and painted? how are kits usually sold
SKperformance Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 depends on the price and material used to make it fibreglass kits are usually crap and take 5-10 hours to finish and fit them properly . Otherwise they are all wavy with rough edges and do not fit right as it is made from a good companies kit which has a mould made of it but the moulds are never finished properly . Ureathane or plastic is oem material and since it is expensive to make the moulds the companies usually make sure it is perfect in the mould so they bolt on without extra bodywork to finish. Any kit below 1000 is a risk. No kit unless used or sold by a OEM comes painted. The most it will come primed sometimes finished in regards to the edges and trueness of each panel.
branshew Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I don't particularly like the side effects on that eBay kit. It is way too squared for the LS' smooth lines.
