X_bigdave_X Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 1993 Es300, 100k miles OD light keeps flickering Car takes off from a dead stop in third gear (not first) I can manually shift it from 1'st, 2nd D just fine I can downshift while driving and everything seems to work fine. When slowing down for a stop, or stopping, car stalls out and dies. took it to the shop, the tranny fluid looked like Dr. Pepper so i had it flushed. no change, same problem. the MAS was replaced 11/01, the Air Flow Tube is brand new. any help or guidance would be appreciated. this is the wifes car :chairshot: i gotta get it resolved quickly Thanks in advance Dave
SKperformance Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Your throttle body is plugged but if the when you manually hold it in 1st or 2nd and floor the engine ,if it doesn't slip then it is the valve body that needs cleaning . I would get an inline filter for starters as well as a tranny flush done by a machine as well as removing the filter from the tranny and taking it out and cleaning it also as it does not require replacment. Search for filter and you will get lots of info.
Toysrme Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 ... Bridge E1 and TE1 and get the error code for the transmission. AFA the engine stalling it could be any number of things. Since the transmission ECM is storing a fault code, I'm more inclined to start by troubleshooting the torque convertor lock-up solenoid, then the shift solenoids. If the engine is stalling in neutral / park, than the stalling fault lies with the engine. Like I said tho... Start with the tc solenoid.
