I wouldn't get the rx300. I had bad luck with my 99 and 03.

i want to spend around 8k for a 98 or later GS300. Is that possible?

That's rather low for a 1998 GS300 unless you find one that has a salvage title or in lousy condition. Maybe at least $15k for one that it's in good condition but with rather high miles.

Agreed! You might pick up a 97 ES for around that price, but I doubt a GS. B)

I'm going to nominate the LS as well. Although comparatively all Lexus vehicles pack a good bang for the buck when compared to their German counterparts

I was looking at the consumer report for cars and it said that the most reliable used car was a 01 LS...

Let's put it this way......I don't know of a vehicle with a better reliability record than the LS........if any vehicles are close.......it will be in the Toyota & Lexus stable however....Camry, Corolla, ES come to mind but the LS would be on the very top for sure! B)
