TElwell
My rear outside door handle is loose. I have the 100,000 mile extended warranty in effect. Dealer says this is an adjustment and is therefore not covered under a warranty. Is this reasonable?
RX in NC
I believe the dealer is attempting to stick you with a repair that should be covered under warranty. I've owned at least 20 vehicles of various makes and models over the past three decades and I've never had a door handle come loose on any of them. Door handles are engineered for constant usage and should hold up over the life of the vehicle. Stick to your guns and insist to your dealer that you paid significant money to cover problems such as this one.

SKperformance
If it is an adjustment only then break the damn thing off and hand it to them saying ,oops it broke ...now change the damn thing.
jbarhorst2
I agree. They should repair it.
PizzaTurtle
My understanding is that the extended warranty (the Lexus Platinum coverage) should mirror the manufacturer warranty's, which should be bumper to bumper. The dealer should fix it for you.
THE ONE
If it is an adjustment only then break the damn thing off and hand it to them saying ,oops it broke ...now change the damn thing. ← NOW, THAT'S A GOOD ONE...

SW03ES
This could be considered a warranty job, but I could also see how it could be considered an adjustment. If your mirror falls off, its warranty. If you knock it off, its not. It depends on whether or not they believe that the looseness is caused by rough and improper treatment. I'd stay on them to make them pay it though, how much are they trying to charge you?
xfirechief
DEALERS ARE GREAT HERE Every time we take ours in for work they go overboard in their work. Even replaced the wiper blades when I said they didn't clean properly. Then they wash the car everytime its in. :)
