lex-o-951
Can the HID bulbs be replaced with aftermarket HID bulbs? If i want to change my bulbs for my HID's to 10,000k bulbs would that damage my electrical?
steviej
who makes a 10K k HID bulb and how much illumination is that going to give you? I'm guessing it is going to be purple and a candle will through more light. the k number is the kelvin temp. not anything to do with amps. or watts. As long as you don't go higher than the stock wattage rating, you should endanger any wiring. steviej
SKperformance
oem bulbs need to be replaced with oem bulbs their are some knocking around but they don't last as long and the actual light output is crap
bartkat
Don't go with anything that uses more than 35 watts anything higher will screw your wiring and lighting system, sooner or later. . Sure, you can find crappy bulbs at high color temps, but like the guys above have said, you won't see *BLEEP*. Also in some states you'll get busted with running with those kind of headlight. OEM are around 4000 to 4200K and after long use may go up to 4500K. Anything over 5000K on a Lexus is RICE, IMHO.
SKperformance
actually bart i really like 6300k bulbs much whiter ,no yellow and barely a touch of blue 800k is just ridiculas ,sure it is brighter than halogen still but why compare an apple to a rasin. It is however a fact that color temps above 4300 or so will produce less lumens. For my purposes, lumens is where it is at. :)
