Sc400 Good Exhaust Diameter?

I was wondering what the stock exhaust diameter is on the 93 SC400 and if a 3" exhaust would be too big.

dont know for sure, but I think with the V8 a pipe that big will acctually hurt your lowend torque.

on a 98 a 3" would work, but on a 93 i would say 2.5. unless you have other mods and your car is breathing real well.

well, the only places that do exhaust out here use pipe bending, any suggestions about that? ideal diameter for that?

well the stock exhaust looks to be about 1.5" in diameter, so i suppose a 2.5" exhaust using pipe bending is still better than the stock right? anybody with feedback on this logic, please reply.

I would say 2.25" custom piping if you're running a stock setup. I have another car with a stock 4.6L V8 and I definitely lost my low end torque by going with a 2.5" catback.

What about 2.5inch straight pipe from headers back? Anyone done that?
