  1. One of the bulbs that illuminates the liscence plate has burnt out, and i cant figure out how to get them out to change them. Does anybody know how to replace these?

I was looking for some new springs for my car, and i cant seem to find a decent deal on the Pro-kit springs for my car. i found a good deal on some SC300 springs and i just wanted to know if it would work without any major issues. i know the 400 is a little heavier, so would it really make a huge difference?

  4. actually i feel that the GReddy EVO exhaust is much quieter than the Blitz exhaust, and with a much deeper tone to it as well.
  5. for the GS, a good set up is either a dual voice 12" sub such as a fosgate or kenwood in a sealed box centered in the trunk or if you want to completely fill the back area of your trunk, use two single voice 10" subs in a ported box. whatever you do, do not go with any type of bandpass box in that car, i doubt you have the need or the want to spend that kind of money on the power necessary to actualy require a bandpass setup.
  6. I just bought a 1993 SC400 for 5300 in pretty good condition. I made the purchase about 2 months ago and just got around to putting in a new exhaust. It consists of 2.25" piping from the cats to a Y-pipe that merges into a 3" center section and back out the Y-pipe to 2.25" piping and to 2.5" mufflers. The mufflers are from megan racing and sound quite nice. Note: all 3 resonators were removed...sounds nice...loud, but nice.
  7. well the stock exhaust looks to be about 1.5" in diameter, so i suppose a 2.5" exhaust using pipe bending is still better than the stock right? anybody with feedback on this logic, please reply.
  8. well, the only places that do exhaust out here use pipe bending, any suggestions about that? ideal diameter for that?
  9. I was wondering what the stock exhaust diameter is on the 93 SC400 and if a 3" exhaust would be too big.
  10. i tried replaceing the burnt out light in my glovebox, but it doesnt seem to work, does anybody else have this problem? any fixes?
  11. Would it be possible to use the 3-spoke steering wheel from 98+ lexus models on the 1993 SC400? and could you retain the cruise control, etc.?
  12. yes, you can put a sub in the trunk as well as an amp, and have all the speakers in the cabin run through the amp as well. just make sure that you have a professional install it, the wiring can get pretty complicated.
  13. I was planning on changing out my parking/driving lights on my 93 SC400 (the lights adjacent to the low beams), but i am at a loss as to what type of bulb these are. does anybody have a positive answer?
  14. well, i took the plunge and bought the car for 5300$ and 135472 miles on the odo. the motor still seems to pull strong. the problem with the trunk was that the shocks are broken somehow and need to be replaced, and the hood simple sitcks sometimes, you have to get your fingers under it to get it up. two odd problems with it are on the gage cluster. the needles on the tach and speedo have burnt out, they no longer light up, and the fuel needle seems to take quite a while to get up to the actual fuel level, so maybe i can have the local lexus dealership take care of that problem. about the exhaust, i think ill just get some cheap mufflers off ebay and have a cuztom system fabricated, then ill use the injen intake. im still unsure about the wheels, but ill have plenty of time to figure it all out
  15. i found a car out here in charleston, south carolina, and it seems like a pretty good deal. its a 93 SC400 with 135k miles on it. im getting it for around 5600$ and im really close to buying it. the car drives fine, and everything seems to work, right down to the a/c. the trunk hydraulics dont work, and the hood doesnt quite pop up when you pull the latch, you have to kinda pry it up, but i think that 5600 is a pretty good deal. well, just want to know if there's anything else i should watch out for. im currently an owner of a 98 GS300, but need a commuter car and just cant get away from the lexus marque. thanks for any help! also, what are the most cost effective intake/exhaust combo for this car?
  16. it wont do much but look odd. you'll have a rake on the car, and there will be less fendergap on the rear than on the front, personally, on a mid-size luxury sedan that looks quite odd. i would suggest getting new wheels and using something like a 245/45 Z17 or something of that sort.

  19. I managed to find an outrageousely expensive HKS intake manifold for my 1998 GS300 and am yet to find a throttle body, hi-flow cat, etc. Does anybody know of all the upgrades for the 2JZ in the 98+ GS300? Oh, and here's a pic of my car:
  20. I have been looking around quite a bit and I am having serious difficulty finding a exhaust manifold/header for my 1998 GS300. I have found several for the IS300, and have yet to find one for the non-turbo supra. Will either of these fit? If not, does anybody even make a header for my car?
