Does anyone know if the new 2004 DVD nav. update will work in a 2001 LS430?

I want to buy it and install myself, but not if it's not compatible.

I bought a CY '04 Navigation DVD update at Lexus dealer (Lexus of Steven Creek in San Jose, service site) for my 2001 LS430.

The DVD label is: MN 00230-DVD04-CY

It costs me $308 including tax. It's worth the money to get updated.

I took me 10 minutes to install it. It is very easy to do it yourself.

BTW, I got my LS430 service there under Manufacture warranty.

The service at this Lexus dealer is the BEST!

I heard, the new Lexi ('04) do have the same navigation-system like Toyota Prius.

So.... if you want a update, talk to your dealer about malfunction.

According to my dealer it will work just fine. I just ordered one yesterday ($308 w/tax) from Sewell Lexus parts and am anxiously looking forward to updating. I still have the original DVD that came with the car and it's pretty out of date.

Well, the update was on my doorstep when I got home. It took me longer to find the DVD player than it did to upgrade it in my '01 LS 430. Worked fine asa soon as I closed the door on the disk player.

Yeah its super easy. Its a crime the dealer charges 2 hours labor to install it...
