04' Rx 330 - Rear Windshield Wiper -sucks

I have had my 04' Rx 330 for over a year now and they tell me that they are working on getting an improved rear winshield wiper , that will actualy be able to clean the rear windshield! They have acknowledged the problem , but have not yet advised a fix.

Any word out there??

In what way don't you like it, too small? You could always try a blade a couple inches longer and see what that does for you.

Whats so bad about it? Mine seems fine to me.....I do notice with the way the rear is shaped it collects alot of dust, snow or whatever as you drive

Thanks for your interest. The rear wiper smears as opposed to clearing during swiping. This was presented to Lexus when I first had the car delivered. The advisor remarked that they were aware of this problem as it was discussed at a recent service advisor conference. He indicated that they need to redsign the blade assembly due to the contour of the rear window. My vehicle was built in Japan, in April las year.

Any idea??

This is a common complaint and is a known issue. On my vehicle, the wiper leaves a 2-inch smeared arc about 2 inches from the top of the window.

Perhaps it's because of the shape of the window, but the wiper can't clean that arc.

You know you say it, It doesnt clear the best!

I would think all they need to do it make a wiper arm with a more higher tention spring, so it holds it to the window tighter????

Just find out this TSIB from NHTSA: 00804. REAR WIPER IMPROVEMENT. This might be the one can fix it.

I also found out another TSIB: 00504. BRAKE BOOSTER. Does anyone know what this is?

There is a new replacement wiper arm now available. My dealer ordered it yesterday!

As for the fix for the Window noise some of us have, they replaced the window runs with the updated ones and didnt fix nothing, still as bad as when I brought it in????
