SpeedRacer959 Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Has anyone had this problem before? If so, what's the possible fix? It's got to be something simple. I push the heated seat button, the light comes on, but I don't feel my seat warming....hmmm. Could it be the switch? Any ideas?
amf1932 Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Even though the seat switch light comes on there could still be a burned fuse in part of the circuit. Generally the switch activates a relay and if the fuse to the relay is burned your seat won't heat. Do you have the wiring schematic? Does the passenger seat fail to heat up also? Alan
steviej Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 I have seen losts of posts on this topic, here and on CL. If the fuse is ok, then the heating element of the the seat itself may be shot. Keep in mind the seat heaters on the 1st and 2nd gen ES do not appear to be as warm as the 3 gen ES (at least to the touch of you hand). Check under the seat too, alot of times the socket becomes unpluged if something was or is caught or shoved under the seat. Is the heater working in the other seat? If it is, then it aint the fuse. My fuse is #54 and it is a 20 amp. steviej
SKperformance Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 i find in ine and other es that at idle the heaters don't work for !Removed! turn them on and give the car a good 30 minute highway drive and see if you can notice them then usually it is the crappy alternator that is in the cars that don't feed enough power to keep it warm
