BrysSC400
Hey guys. It's been a while since i last posted. Anyway, I'm driving back from San Diego in my '94 SC400 at like 85 or so when an 18 wheeler in front of me starts dropping crap off the back. So I went around it but hit a slick spot...3 spins later I'm sitting on the side of the road. Long story short, I had been running hard all day, spun and because of the temp of the rotors, ended up with a badly warped right rear and a very mildly warped left front. I'm going to replace all of the rotors, I just need to know what you guys think is the best idea for rotors and pads, etc. Also, while I'm at it do you think I should do the calipers too...? Thanx in advance for the help you guys rock. PS If there's anyone from Austin, TX area we need to get a little lexus club together or something.... -bryan
BMAN1113
Houston here.. I would go with Brembo drilled (not slotted) with Rotex Gold brake pads. Slotted is not practical for a daily driver. For heavy racing only. They eat pads up bad.
JDOwen2
Sounds like your pistons are sticking causing the pads to drag. Get some Supra TT calipers and rotors.
blueviol
Sounds like your pistons are sticking causing the pads to drag. Get some Supra TT calipers and rotors. Can the sticking problem be fixed by cleaning and regreasing the pistons? I think I need to cure my warped rears as well. :cries:
JDOwen2
You certainly could rebuild your calipers, new pistons and seals and maybe a hone job are in order.
