  1. well I like the airbag suspension idea because of truly variable spring rates and ride heigth, etc. Good call on the wheels, but I already have 7 spoke enkei's so I'm probably just going to keep those. Does anyone know sites to check out turbo stuff besides lextreme? -B
  2. Hey guys! Okay here's the deal...I have a '94 SC400 that is in pretty good condition, and I want to do some work to it. I just joined the Navy and gave up ownership of a small computer company, so long story short I'm going to have about 30K 5 of which is going into a Buell crotch rocket...the rest I'm going to put into the Lex. I want to make it fast and look good. As of right now here's my list: -Lower control arm bushings -Air bag suspension -Turbo -Xenon lights low and high -95 front end (with the air intake) what else would you do to an SC400 to make it absolutely awesome? Thanks for the help... -Bryan
  3. that places you in a very small group of people that don't think that the Valentine 1 is the best. I drive about a thousand miles a week in my car, most of which is at 90-100 and I've never even been looked at weird as long as I pay attention to the LED's on the V1
  4. absolutely agree about the triple digits....drive it like you stole it!!!!
  5. no...the noise and jerk comes from the front left...so I don't think is has to do with the rear...any other ideas
  6. When i back out and turn the wheel all the way over, to the right is the worst, I get this really weird jerking problem that if any of you ever had old trucks feels like the differential is locked up or something....what could it be. I haven't really had time to investigate much but if this is common please tell me how to fix it, it's *BLEEP*ing me off.... -B
  7. well I bought the "actual dealer manuals" and make sure that there are 3 books in the set or their not the "real manuals"
  8. Hey is there going to be a lexus owners club booth there? If not, we should digure out some way to get all the LOC members together. I think it would be cool as hell to put some faces w/ usernames. Tell me what you think... -B
  9. Hey guys! I spent all weekend working, but I'm back for a while now. About the supra TT's and the clearance issue I have 18" Enkei 7 spokes, so I think they'll fit, and they do appear to be the easiest to mount. Also, I'm pretty sure I didn't bend the axle, because with the wheel and rotor off the axle has no run-out latrerally or vertically, but if I pull the e-brake real softly the shaking is insane which leads me to believe it's the rotor. Tell me what ya'll think!
  10. I was coming back from a business trip to San Diego, when a truck dumped some wooden pallets onto I-10 and I hit one with the back right tire at a little over 85. the tire, wheel, and suspension are fine (i basically took everything off looked it over and put it back on), however it warped the crap out of my rotor. The rotor is stock. I'm looking for new rotors now. Obviously I would like some sweet looking slotted&cross drilled racing rotors, but at this point, I'll take pie pans if there not warped and I can get them here yesterday; my car shaking is driving me CRAZY!!! Please help...you guys are the best! Until next time! -B
  11. I have a 94 SC400 and I had a problem similar to yours for a few weeks. If you take out the trunk lining on the right side near the changer, you'll see a little whole, that vents to the rear wheel well. On mine the seal around the gromet that plugs the whole was almost totally gone, and the area underneath the changer was full of water. So I would say take out the lining and see if there's water, if there is dry the water, fill the hole (I just made to pieces of cardboard, put them over the hole on either side then filled the hole with silicone and removed the cardboard), and re-route the wires that run to the changer and amp. Hope that helps. Signed....uhhh....Bewler!!!!
  12. Hey guys. It's been a while since i last posted. Anyway, I'm driving back from San Diego in my '94 SC400 at like 85 or so when an 18 wheeler in front of me starts dropping crap off the back. So I went around it but hit a slick spot...3 spins later I'm sitting on the side of the road. Long story short, I had been running hard all day, spun and because of the temp of the rotors, ended up with a badly warped right rear and a very mildly warped left front. I'm going to replace all of the rotors, I just need to know what you guys think is the best idea for rotors and pads, etc. Also, while I'm at it do you think I should do the calipers too...? Thanx in advance for the help you guys rock. PS If there's anyone from Austin, TX area we need to get a little lexus club together or something.... -bryan
  13. Hey guys I don't know if you've seen that new rx330 commercial where the engineers take the car out and drive it around, and their boss is asking about them, but if you have I want to know what the name of the song in it is. It kind of has a techno beat to it. -BrysSC400
  14. that's awesome man...I'll definately look into both of those thanx a lot...also I just got my brakes put on, and I had to learn to drive all over again to avoid stopping everywhere...hahaha, and the HID's I put in are rediculous my girlfriend's mom has a brand new acura 3.5RL and my lights are so much brighter than her's it's not even funny...this is gonna be one sweet ride in a couple months thanx for all the help, Bryan
  15. Wow...I really appreciate all of you're attention to detail and suggestions. However, I don't want to get another car and as far as the money I just got a job that I'm making about $125/hr. and am working 50-60 hrs/week so you can do the math. And several other fairly lucrative things on top of that. Anyway, the point is the money is not the problem, and I really want to have a car that runs like a bat out of hell, and has fairly decent handling without looking like a NASCAR car inside. Anyway, get back to me...I'll be gone for a few days to go see my g/f who's out of town, and then I'll start posting some pictures. Thanks again...you guys rock!!! -Bryan
  16. Sounds good...keep them coming...I have the brakes and the lights on the way already and I'm still thinking about everything else. I got the Brembo GT (i think) cross drilled and slotted brakes with their insane calipers...I'm even getting a new master cylinder that can handle a little higher pressure I'm hoping to make this 4000 lb. beast stop on a dime. And I emailed the Bellof company and they don't sell actual Bellof systems to the US anymore, they sell some off brand, so I went with the Phillips because a friend of mine has them on his M3 and they look really really nice. Anyway I'll post pics as I go...keep the ideas coming. Thanks a lot. PS if any of you are ever in central Texas...let me know we'll go run our cars together....later -Bryan
  17. Yeah the entry fee is $8,000 per one person car, and $10,000 per 2 person car. A lot of people get sponsors to pay for the fees. And yeah in response to the fat guy. He has raced a mercedes, GT2, and supposedly is going to get a WAY souped up M5 before too long. Anyway I think it would be fun as hell and how cool would that be if a Lex SC won the whole thing. -Bryan
  18. No it's not really a speed thing...you just drive a few hundred miles each day then party all night and repeat the next day until you get to the 3000 mile finish line. -Bryan
  19. I've been thinking...let's try to get a few LOC members together and compete in the Gumball Rally 2005...I think it would be a sweet testament to the racing spirit of Lexo owners. Let me know what you think. I'm volunteering my car. -Bryan
  20. hey jzz30 thanx man...I was actually just looking at those HID's and you're exactly right they look pretty awesome.
  21. PS: I want the sweetest HID light system I can buy. PPS: I don't have any mod's except for some 17" Enkei's on top of some Z rated Yokohama's. Let's hear those dream car suggestions. -Bryan
  22. Okay, I have a '94 SC400, and I just came across a LOT of money and I want to make this car the sweetest possible while still maintaining a classy fairly stock look. I really want to keep the 1UZ-FE by supercharging or something like that, but I want to know what I should get to have the ULTIMATE lexus...from suspension, to Audio/Video, all the way down to the damn instrument cluster. I know a lot of you have (ebonicly speaking) "sweet !Removed! rides", so let me know what you think. If I get some good advice (or even if I don't I guess) I'll post pics of the progress on LOC. Thanx in advance for all the help. This place should be called the "Lexus Experts and All-around Badasses Club." Thanx again guys, Bryan
  23. I have a question. I have an SC400 with 17" Enkei's...do you think that I could fit the calipers from the Supra kit? I'm not sure exactly how big they are so any insight would help!!!!
