ace305 Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 I was wondering before I go ahead and cook my lights if the actual lense in yellow or if there is a yellow film inside of the lense? I want to have them clear. Thanks
lexusk8 Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 It is possible to following the "cooking" method to take apart the tailight assy and remove the amber lens, but there's definitely some risk involved. Some others have opted to find the '00-'01 ES tailights for replacement from Ebay or the local junkyard.

If pulling the taillights apart are as easy as pulling the headlights apart, then I would say the risk is minimal. Just be sure to PREHEAT the oven!!! ace305 Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 I didnt think there was an amber strip in the tail light. Will the 01 lights fit right on the 97, or will I have to make any adjustments? Thanks for the info.
SKperformance Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 97-99 are bolt ons for 00-01 just a strip on mine when i did them 7 years ago just bake and pull the headlights are stiffer plastic as it is made for heat closer to an oven than the tails but easy still
