Toyomoto Headers

I keep reading about headers for the IS300 and Toyomoto keeps getting mentioned again and again. I went to their website and just want to clarify whether or not the headers are street legal or off road only. If they aren't street legal, anyone know of some that are legal with great gains?

Also, how much do the Toyomoto headers add in horsepower?

The legality depends on the state laws where you live. If you leave the stock cats on it will still pass most smog tests. In places like California they won't pass the "visual" check.

As for power gains, that again depends on what other mods you have. Just adding he header alone isn't going to be great gains, but along with a good intake and a cat back ehaust, and possibly a tuneable ECU device you might get 15 to 20 WHP gain.

Your best bet is to find a local tuner who has experience with Toyomoto and get his recommdations.
