spradling Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 The panel gauge lights (speed lights, AC lights, stereo lights) turn off when I turn my headlights on. When the headlights are off, the gauge lights are illuminated. Strange problem. The "ELC PWR" warning light is also visible. Any thoughts?
90LS400Lexus Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Are you sure that the "brightness dial" is turned to the right? If it is turned too far to the left, they will go out when the lights are turned on.
bdonkersgoed Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 I also agree . . . Here is why . . . if you have your brightness dial all the way to the left and your headlights are on, it turns the instrument cluster lights off. If you shut your lights off, the instrument cluster will light up. This is because it is assuming that you are driving in the daytime, and it is more difficult to see the cluster in the sunlight, so it lights it up automatically. I think this is the reason? Anyways, let us know if it worked. Bryan
90LS400Lexus Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Thats what I think. If it is turned to the left all the way- it "thinks" he/she wants his dash lights off. Hopefully he/she is not trying to repair them, because it seems like it may simply be switched off.
