  1. I have had my deposit in since Feb 04 but I have not made up my mind if I want to wait for the Mark Levinson radio and DVD player yet. My rep told me that Lexus is VERY reluctant to have anyone install things in this vehicle other than Lexus (I wanted DVD in the headrests). Because there is such high voltage (650VDC) in the car that they are afraid someone may get fried!
  2. Below 10 I have had a deposit for over a year ← Glad you pick that option, I noticed a typo, well my dealer will take my money even if I spelled it wrong, ha.
  3. I will check out that chat forum - thanks! VGR, I have no qualms about changing oil early if needed. However, I am curious as to how Toyota tackles this issue. I drive my Corvette 8-9 miles to work almost every day and the oil temp (I keep that readout displayed on the digital info gage) shows that during the Winter months, the temp gets up to about 180F. It can get as high as 200 during the Summer, but I have to wonder how low it would be if I lived in a colder state. Dave ← I use MOBIL 1 in all my vehicles, after breakin, my machanic says that my 135000 mile minivan's engine looks like new

  6. Many of you have been with us from the beginning, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the world's first luxury hybrid. The good news is that the wait is almost over. And the very good news is that as a sign of our appreciation for your patience, you are among the first group of people to receive official information about the revolutionary Lexus RX 400h. To begin, we thought we'd give you the two most highly anticipated numbers. Arriving in Lexus showrooms on April 15, 2005, the RX 400h will be priced at $48,535 MSRP [1]. Perhaps one of the most stunning attributes of the RX 400h is its impressive performance. Combining the power output from its electric drive motors and the 3.3-liter V6 engine, gives you brisk acceleration from 0 to 60 in 7.3 seconds [2], outperforming many of its V8-equipped competitors. Even with its enhanced performance, the RX 400h still gives you the optimal mileage and low emissions that you expect from a hybrid. The estimated combined fuel-economy rating of 28 mpg [3] equals the average for compact sedans. And its estimated EPA city fuel-economy rating is even better. At 30 mpg, the RX 400h's city mileage more than doubles those of many V8-equipped luxury SUVs. The RX 400h features an AWD system that utilizes a separate electric drive motor at the rear. Not only does it provide extra torque on demand, the intelligent system actually helps to manage front and rear torque distribution according to traction conditions. It's only fitting that the next generation of luxury SUVs would feature the all-new Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) [4] system. Rather than reacting to vehicle wheel slippage, VDIM's advance sensors allow it to anticipate such conditions. As soon as any slippage or loss of traction is detected, it applies the Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) system and controls the Electronic Throttle Control System with intelligence (ETCS-i) to help maintain the correct course. As you can see, with the innovative RX 400h we didn't just go out of our way to create the new benchmark of luxury SUVs. We also set out to make April 15, 2005, one of the most inspiring dates in hybrid vehicle history. Comfort and Luxury - Brushed-aluminum accents - Voice-activated DVD navigation system [5] - Automatic dual-zone climate control with smog-sensing air filtration - 10-way adjustable driver's power seat with memory function - Power rear door with remote keyless entry - Available Mark Levinson [6] audio system with 11 speakers and in-dash, six-disc CD auto-changer - Available DVD Rear-Seat Entertainment System (RSES) with remote control, wireless headphones and seven-inch LCD - 38 cu ft [7] of rear cargo capacity; 84 cu ft [7] with rear seats folded down - Illuminated entry system Safety - Front dual-stage airbags Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) [8], driver's-knee airbag, front seat-mounted side airbags and side curtain airbags - Welded-steel unibody frame, side-impact door beams and impact- dissipating front and rear crumple zones - Rollover sensor - Backup camera [9] - Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) - High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps - Rain-sensing wipers Warranty - 48-month/50,000-mile basic limited warranty with Roadside Assistance for 48 months/unlimited miles - Powertrain and restraint system coverage is provided for 72 months/70,000 miles - Corrosion perforation protection is covered for 72 months, regardless of mileage - The hybrid-related components, including the HV battery, battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter, are covered for 96 months/100,000 miles
  7. Your letter from Lexus? You didn't mention that in your first post. You referred to your "dealer". I have received a brochure and e-mails from Lexus, but no letter regarding ordering of options. ← Sorry about the confusion, I got the letter from Lexus then I asked my dealer about the ordering and tracking process. He said they (Lexus) would contact me independently and initiate the process.
  8. The letter I received came from Lexus not my dealer. The process is supposed to be initiated by Lexus from Japan for USA orders.
  9. Wow! that doesn't seem fair considering I have had a deposit down for almost a year. One would think that they would follow through with their promise to let us order the colors and options we want and track the car through the assembly process. <_<
  10. My dealer told me that there would be an ordering and tracking process for those of us who have got deposits down on a 400h early. I have not been contacted, has anyone else? It is getting closer to April 15th and I want to get my options in the factory. :cries:
  11. HELLLLLPPPPP! I cannot add a new topic or even a poll. The webpage does not come up with a topic box or even a "add topic" button. Does someone know the webmaster for this website? I am RAID10. :cries:
  12. Yes those are the rims, I have sent email to Lexus about the tire size with no response. A Lexus dealer here in NJ had them on a showroom car and they looked great, but when I went back to see the tire size the car was sold and the sales rep couldn't remember the size.
  13. Upgrading RX330's 19 inch wheel will likely to throw off your odometer, speedometer, and navigation. This calculator will help you to tell how much. http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculato...p?action=submit I would go for 245/50/19, assuming your original tire is 225/65/17. Make sure additional tire width will not cause tires to rub though. ← These are sanctioned wheels from Lexus so the service people enter the info into the car computer and the guages work correctly.
  14. Go to the Lexus website pick the RX330, one of the options is parts/accesories under there is the ten spoke 19" wheels. I saw them on a car in the showroom they look really good. They fill the wheel well.
  15. Has anyone upgraded to the 10 spoke 19" wheels offered on the Lexus website under options? Can anyone tell me the tire size required for these wheels?
  16. The AWD is going to be starting at 50K approx. ← I got it from a dealer that the R400h will start at 40 or 41K with AWD, he thinks there will be no FWD offered.
  17. The brochure said the fuel tank size is TBD. I heard the starting price was going to be around 40K.
  18. Just got a Lexus brochure today with lots of pictures but not much on standard equipment or options. It states this model will go on sale April 15, 2005 (old news). It never shows a shot of the radio to see if XM is available, but the news said that it was announced by Toyota that all Lexus models will have the option from the factory. The letter also says that colors are available on the website, but I looked and just the 330 is there. Mark Templin, Vice President, Lexus Marketing said in the letter that the development stage is over and the preproduction stage has started.
  19. I agree with the "Country Club" wise-crack. Hybrids don't save money. Maybe they save gas. Think about this: my RX330 reports an average of 24mpg. It will be driven about 15k miles per year. That's 625 gallons of gas. At $2/gal regular, it's about $1,250/yr for gas. Assuming you drive your car for 10years, that's about $12,500. So what if a hybrid will cut gas consumption to 50%. That's still $6,250 in gas saved. Now consider this: hybrids are going at a premium above asking. You've already blown the gas savings at that point. When it's time to replace the batteries, you're further into negative territory. If money were not an object, I would buy the RX400h too. It's a cool car. But I still know I'm not saving money. If gas hits $5/gal within the next 10 years, then I'll concede to the 'saving gas' argument. I want the 400h so I can laugh every time I am sitting in slow bumper to bumper traffic with my engine off and my electric motors hummin.
  20. Naa, this dealer's full of it. If anything the 2005 interiors have MORE wood than ever before. The 400h has no wood, it has brushed alluminum trim to make it look high tech. Lexus isn't concerned about the use of wood. My dealer said he can get me all wood interior on the 400h if I choose.
  21. The multipanel roof is available on the RX330, one was delivered to my dealership, but I did not see it. The sales rep said the rails are deleted, but I wanted to talk to a owner to get an impression.
  22. Has anyone heard if the 400h will have XM Radio or keyless entry available?
  23. I am on the list for a RX400h and was wondering if the multipanel moonroof is worth the money. I hear if it is ordered you cannot have any roof rails. Comments?
