  1. Now that's really and idea! I didn't realize I could purchase a warranty. All of the service has been done at the dealership and it's in superb condition. Anyone have an idea how much a 3yr/100k mile warranty would cost?
  2. Guess you're right. I probably just neeed to rely on Lexus reliability and keep the car for a couple more years.
  3. That's usually my opinion as well but I've found that as soon as you pay a car off, things start to happen. I got rid of my 96 ls400 a year ago because of that. As soon as I paid it off, my power steering system failed. I also had to change out all of the rubber parts (motor/tranny mounts, rear bushings, strut rods, etc.). I sold it to my sister and, since she's had it, she had to get the starter changed. It had 130k when I got rid of it. Maybe I should take into consideration that it was 12 years old and this car is only 4.
  4. Just wanted to get you guys' opinions. I've got a 2005 Ls430 with the Nav/Mark Levinson package with 55k miles. I got it at a great deal last year from a BMW dealership. It was a trade but was purchased and serviced completely at Sewell Lexus (my tech checked the VIN for me). Anyway, I financed it at 5.6%. The drawback is that I don't have the CPO warranty. Now, with Lexus running the 2.9% deal on all CPOs, I was thinking about trading mine in and getting a 2006 with the same features. I guess I just kinda want to be covered for a few years if something goes wrong and, at 2.9%, I'm thinking I could probably get into a newer vehicle with less miles for an even cheaper car note. It's either do that or keep mine, hope that nothing major goes wrong, and upgrade to the LS460 in about 2 years. Any opinions?
  5. LOL! Plane tickets?!? I probably would if we weren't in a recession! I thought about taking a stab at getting the door panel off. I'm sure it's something I could see. But I have no idea where to start with removing the panel. Is it difficult? Any suggestions?
  6. Hey guys, I have a 2005 ls430 with 52k miles. I've noticed a slight rattle in my rear drivers side door when I hit a small bump or something in the road. I'm not sure if something is loose on the inside or what. I really don't want to take it to the dealership to have them "test" for something and charge me $90. Just wondering if anyone else has had that problem or has any ideas what it may be. Thanks.
  7. I've driven both. Lexus is STILL a better ride!!!
  8. Try www.wheelsamerica.com. They fixed a couple of rims for me and did excellent work.
  9. Just make sure they are oem chromes. There are a lot of knock-offs floating around.
  10. I had 20s (245/35/20) on my 96 but I didn't lower the car. If I hit a decent dip, it would rub on the frame. I'm thinking you'll be rubbing quite a bit if you lower on small highway/street dips. You'll also feel a little more road with the low profile tires but mine still rode great.
  11. Width: 7.5J Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.50 or 5 x 114.3 Diameter: 17 inches Offset: 45 I sold the tires and sensors. Now selling just the wheels. $400.
  12. Yeah, I think that body style is sweet! The designers definitely did their job of making some of us drool over this one!!
  13. I recently upgraded to a 05 LS430 in June from a 96 LS400. What a difference!! Anyway, I'm already licking my chops about purchasing a 07 LS460 when they come down to my price range. For those of you who have had both, what are the big differences between the 430 and 460? What are the upgrades/luxuries that are truly beneficial to you?
  14. Thanks for noting that. I saw them on Lexus' parts website and thought they were the same but I now I see they aren't.
  15. Yeah, it's a totally different ride. I'd say test drive one first. I've driven both (my wife had the 2003 gs) and I have the 05 ls430. The GS has a lot more sporty ride while the LS is ultra luxury.
  16. Yes, they have the factory sensors on all 4 wheels.
  17. Try Costco or Kaufmann Tire if possible. I prefer not to buy them online because you don't get to see what you are getting. Discount Tire or NTB is good too.
  18. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between replica and oem lexus wheels? What is the tell tale sign? I bought a set from one of our members and put them on a 2006 GS300. He never said they were oem wheels so it wouldn't be his fault at all if they aren't. I just want to know because, since buying them and putting them on my wife's car, the car pulls to the right and the low pressure sensor intermittenly comes on. Thanks.
  19. Set of 17" Tourmaline (10 spoke) oem wheels. We just took off of my wife's 2006 GS300. They have Goodyear Eagle tires that have about 10,000 miles left on them. One wheel has a minor scratch on them. I've included a close up of that. If you are interested let me know. $1000 shipped.
