  1. Well, I'm still having the same problem with the new ignition starter. My key has gotten stuck twice in the past 2 weeks. And, now my dealer won't return my calls. This is ridiculous. I love my car, it fits my needs and is great to drive but I'm really frustrated now that I feel I can't trust the key to work or the car to start. Any suggestions? I've thought about trading it in, but I really don't want to spend the money. I may switch dealers and see if I get better service. I have yet to call Lexus corporate. Does anyone know if they can install the push button start into a car that has a key ignition start? Is that possible? Just a thought, LOL! Thanks, Bonnie
  2. I've not had this problem but I have had a problem with the volume control button on the center console. Sometimes it just doesn't respond and just quits working so I have to adjust the volume using the steering wheel controls. I wonder if anyone's had this issue, either?
  3. I noticed a lot of folks talk about the locking of the steering wheel. I had this key problem with my 07 RX350 and they actually replaced my ignition core. My husband freaked out when he was with me when it happened because for the longest time he thought it was the way I was turning the key, or the tires weren't straight, or the steering wheel was locked, etc. At one point I almost called roadside assistance as I was stuck in a dark parking lot and couldn't get the key to move the ignition core in any direction. I finally just took a deep breath, waited a few minutes with the key out, and tried again and all of a sudden it worked. It had nothing to do with the steering wheel or the tires or the shifter being fully in park(which it was). Anyway, it scares me each time it happens and I'm hoping this new ignition core will fix the problem.
  4. I had them replace the heater core only to have the problem happen again with the replacement. It's driving me crazy as it only happens when I use the heat. When they replaced it the first time, they poked a hole in my glove box and scratched up the inside of the support beams next to the windshield. Then I noticed the dash was rattling so I took it back and had that fixed. But, then they broke my vent and I had to have that fixed. It's just been one thing after the other with this car. But, I can't complain really: I got a great extended warranty buying it as a CPO from the dealership, I get good gas mileage for an SUV, and I do enjoy driving it. If the problem gets worse, I'll see what the dealer says but I'm leery of getting the core replaced again since they have to take out the entire dash and I wasted a lot of my personal time driving back and forth to the dealership, which happens to be 45 mins away!
  5. Do you think the condensation was from the car wash? Yes, it was. They replaced it but in the process of working on my vehicle and fixing a rattle in the dash that occurred when they fixed the white dust problem, they broke my driver side vent. The piece that slides the vent back and forth was stuck and wouldn't move so I had to bring it back again and have them fix this. They also had put a hole in my glove box casing and I had to have them fix that, too. And, again, there is grease in my car but this time it's on my passenger side floormat. Honestly, I'm pretty much done with this dealership. Just once I'd like to get my car back in better shape than when I dropped it in their care. Sigh.....
  6. I have been having issues with my Nav screen on my 07 RX350. Sometimes I will press the climate button and the NAV screen will come up. Other times it will be a different screen upon startup than where I left the setting when I exited the car previously. So, say I had the audio screen up and stop for gas. After turning the car on, I will have the info screen come up. The dealer has been no help and thinks it's a fluke as they can't recreate the problem. And, since it happens every so often, I really can't recreate it myself either. Has anyone else had this problem??? Thanks!
  7. I just had my 07 RX350 in for service. They did the white dust fix(replaced the heater core) and did the oil line fix. When I got the car at the dealership there was grease all over my seats and black smudges all over the plastic interior. I had to clean it myself and then when I got home I noticed there was condensation inside the driver side light casing. Um, never had that problem before! After reading the advice in this thread I will now know to do a walk around with a service advisor both before and after service!
  8. I'll be watching this thread closely. I bought a used 07 RX 350 and I soon noticed that I get a vibration at around 80 MPH, a speed at which I don't drive often enough so I wasn't concerned about it at first. But, our highways here are 75 MPH and I recently took a road trip and was going 80 and noticed the vibration. It does stop if I go 85. Funny thing is, I had this exact problem with my 02 Highlander but it happened at 75 MPH. If I went 70 or 80, there was no vibration! This is one of those issues that I haven't brought up to the dealer yet and I'm planning on taking it in for service soon to have the white dust problem fixed!
  9. Our insurance company will not pay for Lexus glass. They will pay for Original Equipment Equivalent but not OEM. I spoke to the glass guy that works with our Lexus dealership and he said that it costs $1500 to replace the glass with Lexus glass. Has anyone had top of the line replacement glass and NOT had a problem with it? We have a 2005 ES330 and a 2007 RX350. Thanks!
  10. Congratulations on your purchase! I have an 09RX350, and the words 'steering' and 'feel' should probably not be in the same sentence when speaking of the car. The steering as effortless as any, and there is practically no 'feel'. If that is what you define as 'soft', then your car is 100% 'normal'. Re: The weathering of the rack, other than repainting (which I woudl not advise), an application of a product such as "Armorall" could temporarily make it look better. Certainly worth a try, anyway! Thank you! Also, does anyone feel that the seats on their 07 are a bit short? I noticed that it seems like the seats don't support my legs well. I wonder how it will feel on long trips? b Boy, you are very observant. Yes, I too found the seats to be a touch shorter than the ones I had in the older RX300. Also a touch less comfortable and the elbow-rest less convenient. Sic transit gloria! You will adapt to them.... Yes, I have adapted, LOL! We took along road trip and I didn't notice the seat thing at all!
  11. It will indicate 'off' or 'on' depending on the weight in the passenger seat. (Check Manual). Good luck! If there is a passenger in the seat, it is supposed to light up indicating it is active; but if no passenger, it should not be on (malfunction).. If on with no passenger, I would take it to the dealer...possibly a warranty repair? Yep, and it has to be a certain weight. If my 11 year old sits in the front seat, the airbag will indicate that it is off. Not sure what the weight limit is, but my son weighs close to 85 lbs.
  12. Is this dust just something that comes about when the heat comes on or does it happen with the A/C, too? We barely use the heat here in AZ but I used it last week and saw the white dust. I just purchased this car last month so I didn't know about this problem until I came here to read the threads. Anyway, if this is something that only happens when the heat comes on, I may just skip on the repair. If it happens while using the A/C, which I use 9 months out of the year, than I probably need to get it fixed!

  14. Hey, me too! I had a Highlander Limited and I went to test drive the 2010 Limited and I wasn't impressed with the fit and finish of Toyota's high end SUV(or what they consider worthy of $40,000) so I went to check out Lexus. I'm glad I did!
