Just wanted to update you guys, in case anyone cared... The insurance company called and left a message on our machine, stating the appraiser went to see the car at the shop. He and the body shop guy agreed upon a price of $5,1xx to fix it. (don't remember the last two digits...). My mother called back and asked outright if our rates would increase and the lady sated they wouldn't. She said it doesn't go by incidents on the total policy but that of each individual driver. Since my mother hasn't had a ticket in the past 10 years and hasn't filed a claim before, the insurance "lets the first one go". My parent's are also very friendly with someone who works for the ins company so i'm sure that will help us out as well. I called the body shop and they told me the parts from Lexus came in and they were working on my car. They stated it should be finished before Tuesday but it could take longer... So i'll update with pictures when the car's complete. Thanks again guys for all of your advice/opinions on the matter, this has been a lesson!

Points on your license and having them suspend my license cannot be fixed by my mom taking out her "fat wallet" and paying it off.

I am not a "spoiled brat" as you think. I appreciate everything i have and everything that my parents have done for me. I do not feel entitled or as if i deserve anything, i am appreciative. My parents are the smartest and nicest people i have EVER met and i love them with all of my heart, and they love me the same. I am in the engineering program at the university of Rhode Island, which is an incredibly hard program-at least to me. I have "talents" to build things, it's what i love to do. My father's always been a "do-it-yourself-er" and i guess the genes are in me as well. I work hard, i don't slack off. I go to class 8am to 3pm everyday and i spend the rest of the day mostly doing homework, spending my little alone time on forums learning new things. I don't have much of a social life, i don't party, i don't do illegal drugs, i am a good kid. I get excellent grades, i stay out of trouble, i feel i do my part. My parents have never been in trouble with the law and neither have, i besides a few tickets and that minor accident. When you drive 3 hours a day it's expected to get a ticket and a fender-bender every once and a while. My tickets were 10 over, 10 over and a stop sign violation. My accident was backing up at night in a parking lot, didn't see the person behind me because she was so close. Nothing big! And you really can't feel your speed in this car, sometimes i just loose track of my speed. My parent's didn't want to lie, but they thought it was the best decision to help ME. They weren't thinking about money, they were thinking about me getting more points on my license, which could result in me losing my license which i NEED to get to class everyday. Also if i were to be dropped it would be very hard for me to get a new policy. My parents do whatever they think is best for me. They'll do anything to protect me and for that i am even more appreciative. I respect their decisions and i don't doubt them. I know what they did wasn't totally right, but if i had a child in the same situation, i would have done the same. I am sorry if the actions of me and my family offend you, but please don't make hurtful judgments. That's all i ask.

Most of the 04-present RX's come with the wood/leather steering wheel. There were only a few steering wheels for this series that were all leather, most of which for the 06 Rx400h. I would suggest ebay, but they're so rare, you'll probably be out of luck. Why would you want an all-leather wheel anyways?? The wood is so much more luxurious. So, look into finding an 06 Rx400h wheel. It comes in all leather. I think in 07 the hybrid wheels were all wood just like the 330/350's.

Like I said before if that was all you had. 3 tickets too. Well when your mommy gets a visit from the police in the middle of the night she will know she did nothing to prevent it. The fact that you think it's funny shows just how "young and dumb" you are. Hopefully you won't kill anyone including yourself. That was very rude... I posted this to share my experience not be harassed this way. There are better ways to say things. This is not a very friendly forum.

Looking For A "rod Millen" Front Bull Bar For Rx300
cduluk replied to cduluk's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
oh come on :( anybody?? -
This is a common problem with the Rx300's, in the colder climates fogging is an everyday problem... I keep the setting to "window defrost+feet" and temp setting at 73, outside air. This keeps the moisture inside the car the same as the outside, while still keeping you nice and warm.

2010 Lexus Rx 350 Getting A Workout On The Nürburgring
cduluk replied to bainzey's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
We've all seen this video before =/ Not very impressed with the new RX, but i'll have to wait to see it in person. -
The voltage to the DRL/HIGH's isn't as high as the voltage coming straight out of the battery. DRL/HIGH bulbs get around 12.2V during full power, with the harness you can easily get more than 14V.

This is a really scary thing =/ The driver of that Toyota had no chance to get out of the way... makes you think :(

Go with the HIR bulbs by Toshiba. They have a special coating on the glass that reflects heat back towards the filament making it burn hotter, yielding a brighter light. You may need a harness to get the full potential though. I have them as my DRL/high beam bulbs in my '03 Rx300 and they are definitely brighter after being on a few minutes after they heat up... Go look on hidplanet.com in the halogen forum, there's a ton of info on them. I'm an active member on there, my user name is cduluk there too. I purchased the HIR bulbs on candlepower.

It doesn't matter what battery type you use, just as long as it's the same size. Make sure it's flipped the correct way- the larger flat side of the battery is (+) while the smaller flat side of the battery is (-). If the polarity of the battery is incorrect, it won't work.

older LX maybe? For 10k you're not going to get a V8 Lexus suv that'll be newer than late 90's... Why are you insisting on V8?? That i cannot understand at all. The Lexus V6 in their SUV's produce more power than many competitors V8's. Sorry to tell you, but the fastest lexus SUV is the newer Rx which is V6... The GX and LX are SLOW...

Hey guys! I was looking through some pictures of Rx300's on cardomain and on here, stumbled upon a front bull guard that i am VERY interested in! I was wondering if anyone knew where i could purchase one (new or used)? Apparently they don't make it anymore (UGH) but i want one. Here's a pic of the guard from "HarrierRX300" in CL that was posted a while back. I was wondering if anyone on this site has seen it or knows anyone who has one, or knows where i could still get one? If anyone has one they'd like to sell or can find out where to purchase the same one, please let me know! I would be willing to pay a considerable finder's fee for anyone who can find a place that can sell me one!! I am EXTREMELY motivated to find one... Thanks!
