Just to happens that Dave "DAVEGS4" is the moderator that is putting me through this! I understand that what i did might classify as 'solicitation' to some, but that was never my intention and i made a point of keeping it between the member and myself through PM not to "advertise" on the site. It's the fact that i was doing this guy a favor and this moderator couldn't let it go under good faith that bothers me so much. I could see if i was marketing and putting myself out there as "open for business"... I was merely helping out ONE single member who wanted me to put LED's in his cluster. I do not own a business, i merely have a talent that i was going to use to make another member have a nice gauge cluster. If there's no profit it can't classify as 'solicitation'. The definition clear states so. I just think there's a right and wrong way to do things. When one has power, it doesn't always mean they have to use it with such force. Each situation requires different punishment and i feel there was excessive use of power in my situation. There's keeping things in order, and then there's nitpicking. I mean if every cop out there gave everyone a ticket for doing 1 over the speed limit, can you imagine what would happen?? It's just the fact that this stemmed from one single gauge cluster modification for a fellow forum member. It just bewilders me lol... I believe this is where the saying, "No good deed goes unpunished" becomes true once again... -

Thanks, and yeah i'm sorry this is happening too. I brought it up with my parent's who are both attorneys, and they told me there's nothing i can do unless he communicates or threatens with me outside of the clublexus.com site. Oh well i guess, this forum is more friendly anyways, maybe i belong here. -
Need Help. Bad Experience With Lexus Of Wilmington Delaware

Glad it worked out good. Corporate usually does come through if you complain enough... -
Guys, anyone here a member on clublexus.com as well as here? Well, i am. Or should i say was? For those of you who know me, i have done a lot of mods to my Rx300. I'm pretty talented with building stuff i guess you could say. I've done some LED mods in my gauge cluster, headlight projector conversions, wood additions, the works... Well, a few weeks ago someone posted a question in the lighting section of clublexus.com, where they wanted to know if anyone had converted the gauge color from green to white. I was quick to respond that i have done this mod, and am pretty good at it. I told them if they wanted me to do it, they could PM me and i would gladly help. I received a PM by the member and they asked me how much i would charge. I told them $150 would do it and he said he'd think about it. Couple days later, i received a message from one of the mods on clublexus.com telling me i was receiving an infraction for 'soliciting' on the forum without being a registered 'vender'. I responded telling this moderator that i was not 'soliciting' and that i never mentioned a money value... He responded quoting what i had sent in the PM to the other member!!! Snoop much!? And by definition of 'solicitation' one must "sell" a product for 'profit'. Just so happens that i never intended to make a profit, nor was i selling a product but doing a favor for someone who couldn't do it themselves. For anyone who knows about these gauge conversions, $150 just about covers the cost of materials and shipping. I even made a point to take it to PM to avoid anyone being offended. It's BESIDES the point that i was doing a favor for a fellow club member. A day later, i received another message from this same moderator telling me he was taking my PM function away for a YEAR! He also gave me another 'infraction point' for refusing to stop 'soliciting'. So, i let it go because i figured there was nothing i could do. Few days ago, i posted a couple threads in the RX section of clulexus.com where i posted pictures of a wood conversion on a couple interior parts for the Rx300. In this thread, i clearly wrote in the beginning that the reason i would not be replying to anyones PM's is because a moderator took the function away for soliciting. I didn't want to come off as ignorant to the other members when and if they'd PM me and i'd never respond... so i put it out there as to why my PM function had been taken away. Never did i mention the moderator's name. Afraid he's gonna come after me with a gun or something. Tonight i received two more messages from this same moderator, one telling me i was receiving another 'infraction point' for "complaining about a moderator". The other email telling me i have been BANNED from clublexus.com for 30 days because of my infraction points. Not only that, this moderator deleted my threads on the RX forum where i had spent HOURS posting pictures and writing out detailed, and i mean DETAILED descriptions of how to do the wood mod to anyone else who might like to do it. And i mean, i spent HOURS, and now it's all gone. This personal vendetta this moderator has with me is now costing me the right to surf the site or communicate in any way. I have been SO hurt by everything that's happened on that site, i can't even explain how it feels. And it's my birthday today- this has seriously been the most pain i have felt coming from the 'cyber' world. I have belonged to many forums and have never been singled out and treated this way for helping out another member. I mean, am i supposed to do it for free?? Maybe i shouldn't have helped at all?? This is incredibly unfair, but you wanna know the sad thing? There's nothing i can do about it. I just wanted to vent and let everyone on this forum know what's going on over there in CL land. I have to say the moderators on this site are pretty awesome; cheers to you guys for having a heart. ...did i mention today's my freakin' birthday?? UGH

Eh i've been busy lately with school and everything. I'll update soon :)

Is your dimmer switch turned all the way up? The dimmer works for the gauge cluster and all of the radio/ac green lights as well.

Do you know anyone who sells it? lol SW, i just ordered some of the spray! :) I'm hoping this stuff is good.

lol i don't even know what the IS was supposed to be aimed for. Younger people don't have any money, they shouldn't be dropping 30k on an IS <_< 30k I don't know how Lexus justifies such a high price for such a small car... To me, the IS will always just seem like a glorified Corolla =/ Even if it's a little faster...
-
GRRRR lol. I'll try them. I'll try to find a retailer. I've got to test them now ;P 1,000,000: "Aerometrics" "New Car" scent. 1,000,001: and "Air Wash"

There is nothing luxurious about a manual. That's why Lexus chooses not to offer them for the most part. If one is the type of person who needs a manual, you're right, they should stay away from Lexus. They should go for Infiniti or BMW--you know, those brands that have successfully combined luxury and some sportiness??? :P I just don't understand why Lexus can't make a car that can compete with the BMW 3 Series or the Infiniti G37. The IS 250/350 is TINY in the back, the ride is jittery, the engine is a grainy-feeling V6, etc. Toyota really dropped the ball on the IS, IMO. Instead, i'd say that BMW has "almost" successfully combined sport with luxury. I don't find most BMW's luxurious. They're either cheaply made, or have cheap interior materials. To BMW, it's not important to have luxury, because the type of person who buys a BMW cares more about handling than the handling on the wood and leather steering wheel. And for Lexus, they don't care about sportiness because the type of people who buy Lexus' care more about luxury than handling. Lexus shouldn't combine the two... because they're going to get performance sport-enthusiasts complaining they're not fast enough... I don't think car company's should mix sportiness with luxury, because they're opposites.

Is it close? or Probably just like everything else i tried? lol

I guess theoretically, any such defect they could constitute as wear. But if dealers annoyed their customers with every little thing; they'd have no customers! Dealer's have to give and take. If something is reasonable, they'll point it out. But for little things, they'll just look the other way... It helps if you're a good customer as well; if you have your car serviced at the dealer that will also help.

If one is the type of person who absolutely needs a manual, they shouldn't buy a lexus- they should get a civic. Lexus' such as the IS bring together luxury and sport. I really don't know what's luxurious about a manual to be honest... Honestly don't know how they're selling the IS-F as it is...

From inside the bumper. Use the search tool- there is a DIY with great pictures and details as how to do it.

congrats on the GS :) I've always loved the style of the 01-05 GS430. I always looked out for one in the blue onyx pearl on ivory but never found one for cheap enough =/

I'm surprised that Acura and Honda are so low... My guess buick's have a high rating because the majority of people who drive them are old farts who drive 100 miles a year... And for jaguar- who drives a jaguar?? And Scion is so low probably because the majority of its owners are younger kids who don't know how to treat a car right, never mind take care of it :) Not really surprised Lexus dropped though... they need to wake up a little!
-
yeah lol i think it goes VW < Audi < Bentley. She's got the GTC.
-
I bought the griots leather conditioner, is that the same one?
-
My mom has a Bentley, i think Audi makes them actually. So you live in RI and haven't driven the SC in the snow yet?? lol. I guess you're lucky :P
-
I've had my rx300 since June of 05. Parents bought it for me when i turned 16 (yes i'm just turning 20 lol). But i absolutely LOVE it! The AWD really pays off in the snow; as you know the snow here is horrid. But in the summer it would be nice if it turned into a convertible, but it doesn't. My mom's got an AWD convertible but she never lets me drive it since it's a little more expensive lol... So i guess driving with the moonroof and windows open will have to do :( How does the SC handle in the snow?
-
If you know you're carrying a load, then you would just move a switch and the headlights would lower. You could get a resistance controller from radio shack and have it wired for less than $20 and you'd have the convenience of controlling the height whenever you please from the cockpit. It's certainly easier than buying a new sensor. It's how i have my rx300 headlights wired up, that's why i suggested it. It's cheap and simple, and convenient. I have no idea why anyone would spend over $300 for a new external sensor when you could control it manually for $20. So yeah, i'm "in" this discussion because i know what i'm talking about. I've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.

It will NOT be an easy job. You'd need to remove all of the seats, all of he bottom trim.... Take the car to a professional detailer. If they can't remove it, no one else can outside of the car either. It will probably need a re-dye.
-
Hey another Lil Rhodey resident. I like the styling on this convertable but I just hope you can actually fit people in the back seats of this car unlike the SC 430 LOL. And 306 HP out of a V6 is nice. Haha, what part of RI? I'm in Smithfield...
-
The auto-leveling only takes effect if you have a whale in the back seat or something weighing the engine down... I really can't see spending over $300 to have a new sensor put in for something that isn't really "needed" or ever used. That's why i suggest just bi-passing the faulty switch and manually controlling the height by controlling resistance or just using the adjustment screws...
