Haha i enjoyed this :D Once i lost my wallet (slipped out of my pocket while sitting in the drivers seat) in my Rx300. Half an hour later, found it in the door pocket lol. Who woulda known!? And Lucky13, i believe they call it Murphy's Law :P haha

Yeah, i keep seeing different 0-60 times for the Rx400h. I believe the AWD is less than a second slower than the FWD. But here in RI with all the snow, i need AWD. I've seen 7.2 sec, and as low as 6.9 sec for the AWD from different testers. When i tested it myself, i got over 8 sec... so i guess human error is pretty bad lol... Either way, the 400h is pretty darn faster than the Rx300 i was driving... And as far as mileage, i'm averaging 20mpg according to the car's LCD thing. I tank up just as often as i did with my rx300. The Rx300 had a 19.8 gallon tank while the 400h only has a 17.2 gallon tank! So i guess the mileage on the 400h is a bit better, but due to the smaller tank i have to go to the pump just as much... Only real benefit i am noticing between the 400h and my Rx300 are all the newer technological features, and the fact that it's completely quiet under 5mph in parking lots etc, which is pretty cool to watch people look at me driving like i have four heads... The small tank on the 400h and Rx330/350 is a bummer though... I was looking forward to only having to tank up once a month vs once a week GRRR. I forgot to add auto sensing wipers to the list of awesome things on the 400h. It's freakin awesome!! Whoever invented this is the MAN! But, my friend's hyundai has it too, so i guess it's kinda average for an 08... And i still need to figure out how to get rid of the doors automatically locking whenever the gears in R or D... Sometimes i drive up to someone to pick them up, and have to manually unlock the doors or put it in P..... i mean as if i'm going to drive away on them?? Oh well, i'm sure it's in the manual i'm just too darn lazy to look it up lol.

GRR :( I would have waited for the 010 Rx, but it just seems so darn ugly to me. I've seen several 010 Rx350's in person, and i just don't like them. And i read the 010 Rx450h is slower than the current Rx400h If they just put push button start and all the rest in the 09's design! ;)

Hey guys. Recently traded in my Rx300 for an 08 Rx400h, and really like it! But for some reason, i feel like i'm missing some features i thought this model year came with. One of which, i thought the 07+ Rx's had some special cruise control, like a laser cruise that automatically slows you down or something? I remember seeing commercials a few years ago all about "pre-accident avoidance etc....) ? Is there anything really "neat" about this car i might be missing? It has the nav and everything... but i feel there's gotta be more. I like the AFS headlights and voice activation (even though it seems to only understand few commands such as 'radio on' and 'cd changer'... but still pretty cool). And bluetooth which really helps since i'm on the phone 24/7. And the power tailgate... Anything else i might be missing? Or any cool upgrades i might be able to try? I think the previous owner eliminated the 'i agree' button, is there some other nav hack i can do so i can operate while still driving? I went through the thing to eliminate the seatbelt off "beep-beep-beep" noise, but i want more hacks :D Just want to make sure i'm not missing anything lol. Thanks guys!

Ahh, i figured it out. Front bumper does indeed need to be removed. After removing a few screws, the bumper comes off pretty easily. Took maybe 15 mins to get it off, and 10 mins to get it back on.

That's why i'm going to hide the sensors well, so they don't stand out like sore thumbs ;) And as far as my radar detector, it's a remote detector, meaning the sensor is hidden behind the front grille, wires running through the firewall into the cabin where i have hidden switches and an LED HUD to notify me, along with a silent mode button ;) Where i live, they're starting to use a lot of laser guns vs radar guns. Unlike radar, there's no detection warning to give me time to slow down, it's instant. As soon as the laser hits me, he's got my speed. It's not that i'm a speed demon, just sometimes i don't pay attention and drift into higher speeds. I thought it was hard to tell speed in my Rx300, you should feel it in the 400h!.... It's too easy to speed. The radar detector just "wakes me up" and the jammer, well, protects me on long range, giving me time to slow down before an officer can get a break through on his laser gun... I'm using a Bell STI-R Radar & laser detector and 4 laser jammer sensors from the Blinder M45. I did several independent tests on my Rx300 using the 4 jammers and a laser gun (i rented one for $200/week....) and i got JTG every time, only getting a few breakthrough's at short distances. It really works! I hope they don't make them illegal anytime soon, because they're awesome. I'd recommend anyone who drives a lot one of these systems. Anyways, i just ordered one of the thundercloud ed grilles brand new from Sewell for $300... It's perfect for my app. Here's the sensors i had mounted in the Rx300. I'll be able to hide them better in the t-cloud grille on the 400h.

hey guys. I just bought a 2008 Rx400h. The front grill looks like this: Problem is that i have 4 laser jammer units that i need to install in the front, and i'd like to incorporate two of them in the front grill (the pice with the "L" logo. With the 400h grill, there's no way i can fit the jammers as they're approx 4" x .75" each, and there aren't any "slots" i could use. But then i found this grille on a 2005 Rx330 thundercloud ed: Not only does this grille look better IMO, but the slots would be perfect to insert the jammer units. Does anyone know if the thundercloud grille would fit in the 400h? I'm pretty sure they will, but just wanted to see if anyone has done this before. Also, does anyone know where i can buy one of these '05 thundercloud grille's without spending too much $$$? Ebay's a bust. Thanks for any input! :) This is how i want to install them: But i don't want to cut the grille because it would look stupid... but if i had the t-cloud grille, see how nicely they'd fit?

I know to make a profit you need to sell for more than you buy, i was just surprised to see it at the same dealer- that's all... lol. I guess it was just weird to see my car on autotrader too. Thought if it went to auction (like he told us it would) it'd end up in Afghanistan or something... It was just the initial "shock" seeing it, that caused me to post...

Jeesh... all i was saying was that i was surprised to see it at the same dealer when he said it was going to auction...etc. If i found it in another state with another dealer for $16k, i'd understand that more. But i do understand dealers have expenses etc, i've just never heard of this happening before, that's why i mentioned it. iye... Didn't think this would get so "personal". There is no need for anyone to feel "sorry" for me, i find that insulting...

I'm doing a headlight retrofit. Well, sort of- I'm switching the projector lenses with e30 clear lenses and making a custom cutoff shield to get better intensity and a sharper cutoff line. but to do this, i'll have to remove the headlights from the car, which i can't figure out how to do yet. I thought someone on here might know...

Hey guys. I need to remove the front headlights (not foglights) on my 08 400h (same as 04-09 rx330/350). I was wondering if anyone knew how exactly to remove them? On my Rx300 i just remove a top screw and remove the wheel-well liner to get two more on the side, relatively easy. Do i need to remove the bumper on the 400h to remove the headlights? Thanks!

I'm 20 years old remember ;) I think the top one looks VERY classy. It gives the front something unique; separates my Rx400h from the rest. I'll post some pics when i have it installed :)

I highly doubt he did a single thing to it. We just changed the oil in April, and i've kept it prestine, and washed it the day before we traded it in. And the chrome set of tires/rims on it we just put on the first of May (we still have the silver set in our garage). That car was perfect inside and out :) Looking at the pictures, i can see it's in the same condition i gave it to him in. It's just funny to see him turning around and selling it for $6k more than he gave us, on his OWN lot. He told us he was going to send it to auction and that they would only give HIM 11k for it. He made it "seem" like he wasn't going to gain ANYTHING on it... What a slick salesman... lol

You're never gonna believe this! lol So when we traded in my old Rx300, they gave us 11k for the trade, and this was last Saturday, exactly a week ago. I just checked on autotrader today searching 2003 Rx300's, and i found MINE! being sold by the SAME DEALER we traded it into, and he's asking $16k!! http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...;standard=false Left the bumper guard on, didn't touch a thing. He gave us $11k and is asking $16k. Unbelievable... Just thought it was funny lol...

How did you access the fog light bulbs? Did you need to remove the bumper or only the wheel well liner?

No prob. I like these styling's better than the ones available here in the US. I'm gonna bite the bullet for the front one, $708 shipped here we go! iyeeee....

I tried every spray i could find, ones from overseas, to ones at autozone, and the ones mentioned here- none of them satisfied me. But the rug is the smell. It doesn't need to be in the direct sun, it doesn't need to be in the sun at all. When the air heats up, the gases from the rug go into the air and fill the whole car. You could cut it up and put sections under each seat. The smell is the closest thing i could find. None of the sprays even came close =/ Lane's doesn't smell anything like the new car smell. It's "fresh", but doesn't make me think "new car" at all. The rug's your best bet ;)

Tried lane's; ain't even close. All of the "sprays" were a dud. Last month i found the closest thing. I was roaming around Staples with my girlfriend, we were sitting in the computer chairs. In the general area of the store, i got a strong whiff of the new car smell! Wasn't the leather chairs, but turns out they sell these rugs that smell EXACTLY like a new car. They have a black vinyl bottom with brownish/black fibers. I bought one and put it upside-down in my tailgate area (vinyl side up). When the car heats up, it out-gasses and makes the car smell really new :) I just got an '08 this week which still has the new car smell. Damn that rug is the same smell! I bought another rug and put it in this one too, to make the scent stronger :) Here's the rug. Staples has two sizes and various colors, i just stuck my nose in each, and this type was the strongest. It was less than $20.

Hey guys. Just purchased an '08 Rx400h and am already starting to look for a nice bull bar for it, like i had on my Rx300. I've searched on ebay, and haven't found any that really look good. And most of them will fit the Rx330/350 which won't fit the 400h because they have different mounting holes etc. I did however find one from the UK that i LOVE, but the price is outrageous! And the bottom part, number: UZQ210-h looks nice when added to the "nudge bar", but that's another 272GBP which is another $450 dollars! I've made these pics below: I photo-shopped them to show what the car would look like with only the nudge bar, and what it would look like with both. I edited it with American license plates which are required here in RI. What do you guys think? Think the bottom piece is needed? Would it look ok without it?

Yeah, i am definitely getting used to the color combo :) I figured out how to get the bluetooth connected which is SO cool... and the AFS is freaking awesome, it even raises and lowers when you accelerate and brake so you don't blind people. Only issue is that the drivers side door sill "LEXUS" doesn't light up like the others... At least it's under warranty. Not a big deal. And the POWER! UMPH! So much better than my Rx300. I just looked it up, the 08 400h actually has better acceleration than the 010 450h :)

Thanks guys :) But why would someone try to remove the "LEXUS" from the windshield? How can it be after-market if it has the Lexus name. It was definitely "removed", i could see what looked like wet-sand lines and the "waves" of a polisher. Maybe it was a reject? And the exterior color isn't the flint mica, it's actually called "Smoky Granite Mica". Looks the same as the 04-07 dark gray "flint mica" just this one has a lot of different color flakes in it, in different lighting it looks blue, grey etc... It'll come to like it. For the interior it's in black. At first i didn't think i'd like it, but now that i've been in it, i really like it! It seems very classy, especially with the walnut trim and silver around the console. The only other colors optional were black dash with gray seats (which would have been my choice if it were an 07) or the gray dash with tan seats, which IMO looks awful. I also think the black will age better vs the gray or tan, and i do take good care of it. Just cleaned & conditioned the leather with leatherique, it looks awesome! Whoever owned this car took good care of it :) I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them up <_<

Well we bought it!! :D The guy walked around my Rx300 and had no idea all the things i did to it. He agreed it was in good condition and took the deal my dad offered him. $20,000 plus the Rx300 which he gave us $11k for. So the final price for the 08 400h was $31,000 which i think is really good. Only thing is i can't drive it until we get it registered on Tuesday. Since we purchased it out of state, we have to bring it to the police station, then register it at the DMV and everything... But i LOVE it! Upon close inspection, i noticed the front bumper had been re-painted. But whoever did it, did an AMAZING job as there are only 2 or 3 little dust marks. The masking was done perfectly along with the color match. and there was no internal damage, must have just been cosmetic to hide the 42k miles of stone chips etc. Also, i think the front windshield has been replaced, as it only had a few chips (not consistent with 42k miles) and Lexus isn't written on it. Actually.... on the bottom right (if you were looking at it from the front of the car) it's written "united" in black ink. And right above it, it looks like there was a "LEXUS" engraved, but looks like someone sanded and polished it away (but i can still see the "wave" of the lexus letters. What's up with that??? There's also a little 'waviness" in the glass which also makes me think it's after-market. But it honestly looks like "LEXUS" was engraved above the "United" and for some reason removed and polished. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. And i checked the tires, they look almost brand new, Michelin's. Couldn't see the brakes but they feel fine. Car runs like a charm :) :D
